I totally agree with the poorly way Wow "tells its story" and I think that the story in XIV somwhat "saved" the gme and kept us here.

Honestly, I don't think it'll be WoW like at all.
The colour scheme is better, the story has real feel (if the end vid is anything to go off) and the player base is already awesome.
That's 100% better than WoW, hands down.
WoW has greatly improved its standards for stoylines with the newest expansions, but they still don't hold a candle to the depth of any Final Fantasy, XIV included. It's interesting to note because WoW has so many different games to pull lore from, and while FFXIV has many of the FF staples, its story still compels me more than everything WoW can possibly bring to the table.
When I 'finally' beat the expansions in XI, or beat Nael van Darnus in FFXIV, I felt a rush like no other. I specifically remember feeling so satisfied when my static group finally beat Promathia. I remember the satisfaction I felt when my LS finally completed Ifrit (extreme). When I beat the end bosses in WoW, it's more like "Eh, well that was fun, and a nice challenge."
Same feeling here.
I still remember when we defeated Byakko for hte very 1st time, or when we defeated Apocalypse nigh.. THOSE are the things i want here in 14
I've given up on worrying about this. Is there a chance that it will be a WoW Clone? Yes. Do I want it to be? No. It really doesn't matter though.
If it isn't I'll be happy.
If it is, it will fold and take the rest of the series with it. Then we won't have to watch them Bastardize the series anymore and it can RIP.
Or the hard Ark Angels fight. My linkshell didn't have the ideal setup for it, but we did it anyway. THAT was a sweet moment I'll never forget.
I think it is really important that the developers fully understand the competition. I would be disappointed if they weren't playing those games.
Actually doing this makes FFXIV even more diverse MMO out there when ARR release. Also, SE always have their unique design no matter what even if it's a mixture of other MMO ideas into one game.
At the end of the day, ARR will have that true Final Fantasy feel.
ahhh those were the days!
It is those same things that I want 14 to have.
I want is to be a true FF original, with a deep good story!
As long as the game doesn't end up being as boring as GW2 is, I don't care what they do.
