Take a deep breath and relax. It's going to be just fine, you'll see.the fear of a WoW Clone is real...
Even if it does, it wont matter to me ill still be playing it.
If they can rig up a Inventory system that is as painless to deal with as the one in gw2 I will be a very happy person.
Not to mention they could stand to take some notes on flow of play from it.
An Aware, Informed, and Critical community is vital for the success of a game.~ John "Totalbiscuit" Bain
With all due respect, to those telling others not to worry and that every will be Okay, please stop.
You do not have to worry. You can just sit by and wait and accept whatever comes.
Let the overly paranoid, obsessive fans worry. They will keep this Dev team in order.
Someday, people will understand that people who are worrying about every little detail are the ones who are going to keep SE from half-assing this game, Again..

The things AAR seems to want to take from WoW seems good things for me.With all due respect, to those telling others not to worry and that every will be Okay, please stop.

I loved FFXI, and I didn't like WoW.
I don't have the same amount of playtime as I had with FFXI, so I am happy it is a lot more casual friendly.
What is important seems not to change, as how the main stories are told. Still be able to change to whatever you want with 1 char, can combine skills from different jobs.
Also the community seems fine...
So what is there to worry?
Maybe you do see things I am missing?
Also I don't see WoW as a bad game, to me it was just Dark age of Camelot, but in a Warcraft feel.
I did like how different classes really worked a bit different, but that was not enough to make me play more then 30 days.
I never was really interested in Warcraft, and I loved FF series, so I guess that is my reason why I liked FFXI and didn't like WoW.
I know I will still like the FFXIV feel more then any other MMORPG out, maybe only FFXI is the same level to me.
i'm scared for XIV 2.0. they've gone from catering to the players to doing whatever will make them the most money and that's bad news. it's definitely going in the direction of WoW.
No, those that are telling others "not to worry", are just making the point that worrying about the game being a "wow clone" isn't too smart. With all due respect, to those telling others not to worry and that every will be Okay, please stop.

First of all, because the use of the expression "wow clone" isn't smart in general, it shows tremendous ignorance and the inability to critically look at a game and at the differences between two games.
Secondly, because what we already saw of ARR shows clearly that it has marked differences with WoW, so whoever is afraid that ARR will be a "wow clone" simply doesn't have the simplest idea of what he's talking about.
The development team needs rational feedback, it won't receive any benefit from being spammed with irrational fears, nor needs completely irrational fans that most probably never played a MMORPG not made by Square Enix to teach them their jobs.
Ohhh I'm scared! WoW is evil, make the bad man go away!
Who are these babies?
