    You dodged the argument, and answered with a strawman one. The ability to solo and challenging content arent necessarily in conflict.
    mind you, if you want a really challenging game, MMORPGs aren't exactly the place to look. MMORPGs are. by definition of their gameplay mechanics, all rather easy. The same can be said for FFXI.

    Anyways 11 was chalengeing , Sea access anyone? How about Sky , DM? What about the epic fights with that crazy old man Maat? Rhuban?

    What i was saying is i dont want 11 but i want what worked in 11. If someone made a ham sandwitch then added roast beef its not a ham sandwitch but it still has ham. So 14 can be a rost beef and ham sandwitch adding in 11s ham. Maybe thats a better way of saying it.

    Right now there is NO challenge in 14. You do a mission check your map find the NPC off your map and finsih quest. You do a MIssion Goto the area and solo it easy i havent yet ben killed from doing a mission or a quest solo. And ive done them all solo. As for group play being faster to level Yes it is. But the sad thing is People are quiting droping like flies because the game is easy and boarning. Like now im on the fourms talking wile my Chr. is in the market wards crafting Silver needles +1 and all im going to do is NPC them because the market is flooded. After 50 there is nothing to do. NOTHING.

    Also i wanted to add this. Why is it you can pick a battle leve and see if your getting Gild Marks but if you pick a crafting leve it needs to be level 15+ and its a 30% chance you get guild marks. Dosent make sence that again one of them quarks in the game that can be fixed easy. But wont because PvE is more important

    if you want challenge, try a racing simulator. Those encounters (like all MMORPG encounters) were mostly a matter of time and executing a list of actions found online. May have been challenging for the first few that tried them, but after that they become routine.

    The fact that something worked in another game doesn't mean that different or better solutions cannot be found. Final Fantasy XI is still there. You can still play it.

    You're saying that finding an NPC (that most find online anyway) is your idea of challenge?

    And what does the lack of endgame content have to do with the ability to solo and the lack of challenge? You seem to be rambling quite aimlessly, to be honest.

    Because crafting leves are class specific. Battle leves are not. Easy.

    If i could post a link, so,e guy did a nice talk about demons and how its not that hard.

    To paraphrase is a game isn;t hard just cuz you die alot. That demon souls just make death well.. a epic kick in the taco/grapes.

    Personally games are as easy or hard as you make it. Games are just suppose to be fun. I find it a lame excuse that an aggro icon takes away fun for ppl. I see nothing wrong with it. Its like checking mobs and seeing them as Increadibly tough. Just minus the checking. Just because the game gives you icon or hints, its not making the game easy mode. Easy mode is having enamies die to fast you level up wicked fast and don't die as much or at all.

    I think ppl are letting their hate for WoW ruin their experience for ffxiv. Just play the game and have fun. Stop stressing out over it.

    were as i like ur post but FFXI used to be a big ass kicker MMO when it came to being challenging pre ToAU and WoTG before the CoP nerf. it used to take major strategies to get balls rolling on NMs missions quests hell even forming a proper Grind PT had to take into the account of DDs what SC would best affect the mob and IF i restate IF you could find a BLM to MB. after ToAU release everything became a retarded boring TP spamfest. god i miss the good old Bibiki bay PTs

    I actually played FFXI since before the american launch, so I am actually referring to the first years. I don't even know how it has become lately. And from the little I hear, I probably don't want to.

You dont have that fealing in 14 really. Its like ohh ok cool i passed that. 11 is so Jacked up now. Level Synch parties , Abyseea ( witch to me ruined 11) you can go from 75~90 in like 6 or 7 hours. Sea access is duo or soloable now. Most NM/HNM are duo/solo/trio now.

    What i miss from 11 that i have yet to find in 14 is how as a group you got something done. And your like hell yeah "WE" did it. Now its like Cool i did it....NOw what?

    i admit, i love those too, but if the game is hindering me from playing the game as fun, then i cant really say i love it. thus the real reason as of now the game isnt fun yet to be played. And still hopping we're able to progress the same as the party plays... . I mean, i dont have the time now to play except 3-4 days in a week, still with the way it is now.. is really hard for me to play :C

    Not like you didn't see it happening.
    The game was tailored (well now getting tailored) to be less time consuming. Stuff like the aggro Icon just make learning less a kick in the teeth. I rather know what can kill me and learn to avoid it faster. Then spend hours trying to get from point a to point b cuz I kept dieing cuz I couldn't see, or it wasn't obvious that something aggro'ed.

    Now not saying I want easy mode. But the faster one can learn to survive the better of we are. In ffxi unless you knew what aggro'ed getting to parties was time consuming and chances are you got replaced. All because either you kept dieing or took the long routes in the zones to avoid aggro.

    And the aggro icon don't give any more info other then it will attack you. Its not saying you to avoid it, just saying you need to.
