If someone wants has the patients to gather 10 stacks of something in a day, freakin let them. gathering isnt exactly fun, neither is crafting. People get bored, people will take a break from it at their own pace.
Not going to happen, and shouldn't happen. The only people who have the "patients" to mine all day and half the night are manipulating RMT and asperger's 16 year olds. If you want to lock both those two groups in a room and have one group kill the other off to decide who gets to stay, I suppose the rest of us would tolerate one or the other.

But not both. Mining would be run by idiots if the yield caps were removed. Instead of coming home from Halatali with 3 million gil worth of gold for 2 hours of work, all the RMT and people with timespamming tendencies would have glutted the market so much that the gold's only worth 450k. It becomes an arms race of who can stay out there the longest. Production triples. Prices drop 40%. You have to mine 40% longer. Production goes up by 40%. Prices drop again. You have to mine longer. Production goes up. Prices drop. You have to mine longer. The endpoint is that gathering is run by minimum wage kids and sweatshop RMT.

All so Reika can get cheap metal. Right? Is there any doubt a smith would try to start a production arms race in the mining community so they can get cheap metal?

You're no gatherer. Get out of my guild before I have the twins throw you out! Next time they'd like to know how a smith thinks mining should be fixed, I'll tell them where your guild is. Better yet, I'll tell them myself.

Don't tread on gatherers. Crafters need to get out of this topic. Remove the double SP nerf from gathering and leave it alone.

Anyways... The gathering limit, and just about any ANTI-RMT measure they have in place besides the special task force, doesn't stop RMT. It wont stop anyone really, because everyone can just use their free character slots for alt-gatherers, and flood the silly market anyway. If they really wanted to (Oh which the RMT ALREADY DO)

Yes obviously in your world bots roam free without any risk of being banned. Your argument and anyone elses that wants the limits to stay consists of "I don't want competition that can play longer than me" and also only have it as a side job to purely make money, get used to a free market.

Right the free market that drives gatherers to work like slaves because of snowballing overproduction while crafters are the ones to really benefit from screwing gathering up like you propose.

Right now RMT want nothing to do with my account. If you had your way, I'd be getting PM's right about now from them with their unsolicited quote.

My guess is you're just another crafter who wants gold ore.
    That'll be 20k.

And you are a smith in a miner topic speaking for smiths, not miners.
Off you trot. You're not fooling anyone.
All you want is cheap ore, and you're willing to ruin mining to get it.

Know how I think they should fix smithing overproduction?
Make each batch of nuggets 8 ores!
    Hows about that???

Get some, miners! Make em pay the piper!

So ignoring posts from the crazy lady who only likes to shoot missles at people, I once again reiterate that Anti-RMT countermeasures should be removed.

    Comprehensive reasons:

    1. It only hurts the normal player who wants to gather for his/her craft or friends crafts.
    2. RMT get around it by having multiple characters to gather with. thus still getting more materials than the normal player
    3. Anyone can get around it by having multiple characters to gather with. thus still getting more materials than the normal player
    4. If everyone can gather what they and/or their friends need, who will buy from possible RMT? So how will they make money in the real world if no one needs to buy their product in this virtual world?

    Reasons to keep Anti-RMT countermeasures

    1. Because the crazy lady said so.

.....Look at your own signature. I think you should change your tone in this thread and stop arousing anger like that. It makes the community mod less likely to continue reading if he finds it turned into a flame match

I'm two smiths and a miner. I can speak for both groups. You really have no business in this topic as someone who would obviously stand to be at an advantage if your changes were implemented. You know what, this topic doesn't concern you. Go level a gatherer.

It is in the gatherers' best interest to limit production to keep work hours reasonable and prices high. That includes obviously keeping the yield caps right where they are.

Peregine, no need to END her, no matter how in the right you may be. We need those Limsan smiths to sell stuff to.

(I also can't help noticing the irony that you yourself are a smith first, miner second when considering class ranks. )
