An idea for the developers

Since we have a good bit of time till the release of ARR I want to suggest an idea. How about a Web Mini-Series to explain what has happened between the time we were teleported and the time we arrive. I understand that resources are slim and being thrown into the development of ARR. I also don't think it would be a bad idea releasing this anyway, even after you release ARR. Would give the players of 1.0 some closure on the events that happened since we have been gone.

Even if I saw this series air after we have begun 2.0 I would 100% support it. What a nice treat this would be! It would also give you a chance to explain Atomos, the leaders of GC's, Cid, and maybe even give us some more back story on Louis.

Just brainstorming, what is your opinion?

I had been thinking of how this could be done ever since the video was released last night, but it would be a daunting task to do alone.

According to the live dev. letter, figuring out what happened after Eorzea got Bahamut'd and the start of ARR is going to be part of the story in ARR.

Yeah, for sure. I would even be down with reading something. I don't do a lot of lore reading but this game has me extremely interested in its story.

Oh, ok. I see what they are doing then. I really like the idea of a web series or graphic novel though. That would open up a little more flexibility for a further storyline if we had some potatoes for our meat when we get to the table. If you get my reference that is.

Anarchy Online, Warcraft, Dragon Age, Halo, hell tons of games supplemented their subs with books or graphic novels, to bring a new dimension to "the story so far". Its entirely viable.

Animating takes time, even in 2d, even for a comic. If they were to consider this, it'd be like they've been doing up until now: the lore posts that nobody ever read on the Lodestone (such as that cat posting she was leaving her journalist job to flee to Carteneau Flats)

But yeah, all the juicy stuff will be in 2.0. We just have to be patient.
