New Characters and Legacy/Old Characters in ARR

I was just thinking, given that we've been sent to the future in ARR, obviously, us Legacy/Old characters technically, should arrive in this new realm differently to, say a character who is being created fresh in ARR.

I'm curious whether old, Legacy characters will get a different "intro CS" to newly created ones, anyone else think this will happen, or will we all be introduced in the same way?

I was thinking about this too. Like, will there be a distinction in storylines between the 1.0 and 2.0 characters? Not even talking about Legacy, that's a debate for another thread, but will 1.0 characters be recognized from 2.0 and will we get a different intro? If the intros are both the same then, will they connect with the way we were sent off in 1.0, with Lous sending us forward in time? It could be really confusing for someone who's just jumping into 2.0 and doesn't know a thing about this Dalamud business, but at the same time if it doesn't end up connecting with Dalamud for the 1.0 players, it might be kind of lame. I dunno. Just my 2 gil.

Yeahh, I couldn't find the right words to describe what I meant, but I would hope there is a distinction made for newly created, and old characters. It wouldn't seem right for characters that technically weren't sent to the future, to enter the world in the same way as those teleported to the future. It'd be a nice touch for old characters to have a completely different intro sequence.

And maybe a possible explanation for those players who are switching genders.

I think they should spawn us in the final fight that happened last night. We then watch the cut scene (again) and spawn where ever they wanted us to go.

That would be over the top best way to introduce me to the new game.

In the trailer, you are "Teleported", in 2.0 you will pop in where you left off, like "Teleporting to the future".

New characters will have their intro, as usual.

Both are clearly and obviously explained.

I bet the story will be some form of "Learning the past". And both new and old can do this using the same content.

I'm wondering about the beginning CS and quests that new characters would have as opposed to legacy characters. I mean, a new character in 1.0 would have to introduce themselves to guilds, and learn emotes, and do their first leve quests, and learn about the problems facing the world. But then again, as we will all be new to 2.0, we may already fit in the category starting out as new players who know nearly nothing about this new world and need to go through the formalities of the intro quests and CS.

I am thinking maybe they'll kind of leave out what happened in the past and refer to our characters as one of the "adventurers" which could mean either someone new or from a time past, and any past reference to our characters and going through 1.0 will be condensed to lore and maybe a few references from some NPC's not directly related to the story.

What ever they choose. I am extremely hyped about playing the new game. I just hope that the introduction will fully explain how to play (tutorial area) and allow you to skip if you don't need the help. I keep thinking of how Lost Odyssey first started... I want that really bad.
