"300" reference aside, I couldn't help noticing after spending some time on the forums that we have a really diverse playerbase out of game. As we each express our thoughts, opinions, insight, fact, and resources on these forums we have more than just stereotypical high school/college students that play this game. In linkchat I have gotten to know a great many friends and the sheer diversity of profession is inspiring that we are all brought together regardless of degree (or lack thereof) or place of work.

I don't want people to feel like they have to share any immensely personal information and I'm not seeking necessarily any specific names of places if you aren't comfortable sharing it (for instance if you say grocer you don't have to say the Main St. Kroger in City, ST). But, I thought it would be a fun thing to generally see who we each are and what we do.

As for me? I own a game and comic store! It's a lot of fun (and can be scary at times regarding money management, regulations, etc.) and while the circumstances that led me into this profession from my last were sad, I don't think I could go back. I get to enjoy the hobbies I like and get to use my business degree.

How about you all? Auto worker? Pre-med? Receptionist? CEO?

In-game my name is "King Leonidas" i've been shouting "prepare for glory" and when we were all lined up outside the city I would walk back and forth shouting "this is where we hold them, this is where we fight! This is where they die!" people seemed to get a kick out of it, only on RIDILL!

As for myself I own a nightlife event hosting company, we do celebrity events, pub crawls- that sort of thing. Also run track competitively while i'm at school for my bus admin degree. If you want to hear some funny celebrity stories feel free to ask, let's just say i've seen them at there absolute worst!

As for me, I'm in supply chain management (basically business logistics)... currently working a project manager. Hope to be a CEO one day. :P Oh, and I'm also a part-time instructor at the university (in the same field)... best job I've ever had. Seems there are a lot of business majors who play XIV for whatever reason (either that, or it's the new arts... I'll let you decide).

I'm actually a pre-med student. In my senior year and debating about going to med school now, taking a year off or continuing my career in illustration which is what I did before I started going to school again. Playing FFXIV is my way of spending the free time I do have and treating myself to something besides having my nose in a book.

Honestly, I used to go to comic book stores as a kid and with the digital age upon us it had seemed to me that owning a comic book store was a thing of the past. At the very least, I don't see them where I currently live. Just a thought that popped into my head reading your OP.

As my 'real' job, I run a plumbing business with my husband and his folks which is definitely NOT where I ever saw myself, but it's secure work so I shouldn't complain.

As my job on the side - I sell handmade items, clothing, chocolates, anything knitted/crocheted/beaded or wire wrapped. This side business is only small since I only have myself to work on orders and some can take upto a week of solid work D: but this is fun for me!

I am unemployed at the moment, trying to find work in IT support to begin my career, but it's not been going to well.

I don't have interesting celebrity stories, but I did do something interesting when I was 11... For the first Harry Potter movie they had the parts at Hogsmeade station at one of my local railway stations (Goathland) and they held open auditions for students at the local secondary schools to appear in it and I was accepted, you don't see me (too many people) but there was one part left on the cutting room floor where me and two others were running to the train (end of the year) and jump on. I got paid £80 for 2 days going backwards and forwards on a train and missing those days of school. And yes I did meet Rupert, Emma and Danial. I guess you could call that interesting.

One of my best experiences in recent memory was visiting Harry Potter world. I spent like 8 hours there... didn't want to leave.
