So now that the servers are officially down what happens to us the players not in the Alpha currently?

Will we still be getting developer posts during the weekdays, or is their activity going to relegated to the Alpha forums only? It would be great if they would keep us in the loop about the Alpha/Beta even if we aren't able to participate.

Personally it's one of the best ways they can keep us feeling "Involved" while being able to slowly add players to the Alpha and Beta testing. Instead of stone-cold silence until we get a "Golden ticket" and can't talk to anyone else about it.

I understand players are under a NDA about certain aspects of the Alpha, but it would still be nice if they keep us updated regularilly as to current events and developments.

Agreed. A slow steady trick of information is enough to keep peoples interests piqued. SE needs to be able to retain its player base even though theres currently nothing to play..

They've been keeping a lot of this under wraps, pretty hard. I mean the PR/Item dev team was freaking out because of Yoshi showing off the Titan Shield and the chocobo classes...They haven't released much on this game in the "easy to find" sector of things, you have to be following this stuff closely to really catch all the good new stuff. Sure it's great for the people observing this under a microscope but for anyone casually interested in the public sector...they're not going to look or might not even be interested....

Honestly we need more info on whether or not the bestiary will be implemented, and that is our true concern here isn't it?

Global Alpha seems to be slated for end of november. Beta wont be til end of jan or early feb... I hope that all current ffxiv players who applied for alpha will get priority for global alpha and that non current players will get access during beta. At best, you have to live off of official alpha videos, unofficial leaks (if you can find any), and producer live letter screenshots for two or three more weeks til you get invite to global alpha. At worst, you have to hold your breath til end of jan/early feb for beta...

I just think it's a pretty important note to at least know how the dev and community team will be treating the players not in Alpha/Beta.

I still think we can have valid opinions on the game without actually being able to play it. I'm suprised more people aren't concerned or at least interested to hear what waits for us. Because if I'm no longer part of the process I may as well leave the forums until I do get a Alpha/Beta invite if the discussions we are having are pretty much just between ourselves.
