It won't require the team to shift efforts to bring this back on, it's just like it was from november 1 through 11, just turn the servers on and bam, it's working, it's not like they are gonna make new content for it. Also, it's not a matter of reaching 30%, they've already reached 35% during the survey. It will only be on a month though cause once a month they will check and if log-ins don't reach 30%, then they are gonna re-evaluate whether or not to keep it going and we aren't gonna reach 30% again. Someone complained that it will go against the finale of the game, so? Raven nevermore and having him appear in UL during the last 10 days goes against the storyline too, nobody really seemed to care about that, so why care about this? The answer is simple, don't log in if it bothers you. Also, watching it on youtube isn't the same because that's not your character in the video, so it doesn't have the same impact as watching your character in it.

I always took the "bringing it back" question to be if they should bother bringing FFXIV back online after the final save maintenance of 11/1, which they did. Not bringing it back after Impact.

I've got a thread trying to feel out if people are willing to start a new character on XI.

Looks like Phoenix might be the way to go if you want to. Seems appropriate as well since well, FFXI > Rapture > FFXIV > Phoenix > FFXIV: ARR

Death and rebirth and all that jazz.

I'm totally down for taking some more footage of FFXIV though. Didn't think I'd want to play this badly even though I wouldn't be making any progress.

No, please, leave it closed! The whole point of making such a big deal about the closing of the servers, with countdown to impact and the best ending movie to date, would be wasted. Right, so Dalamud crashed into Eorzea and wrecking the city states, Louisoux sacrificing himself to teleport us to the future, Mor Dhona smashed... And then a few days later we log back on to find everything unaltered?

If someone from the SE side could tell us how much it would cost/how many people would be required to run the servers while they're back up for this period and it didnt actually interfere with the ARR project's desired timeline for completion, then go for it. It would be fun atleast for a while to play with the relic stuff and compare it to my own set of gear that I had when the final save went through, see just how much of a difference there is/was.

For that matter, stardust looks pretty damn cool, just really wish it didnt have that damn clipping with the BLM hat when its equipped. That's kind of a bummer. But otherwise its neat.
