I apologize for posting a second topic in the same day. Normally I don't try to spam the forums, but there was one part of the End of an Era trailer that I loved and has me thinking.

There's the short, few second scene where the Paladin and the Warrior are going crazy together.

Could we have a system that would allow this? I mean...we are viewing our tank situations as Paladin OR Warrior. Why not some incentive to use both in one party?

Either design battles in a way that requires a PLD to tank heavy damage and a WAR to tank multiple enemies (in the same fight) or take all the jobs and pair them with another job for a team buff.

Paladin and Warrior in the same party: Defense Bonus, Attack Bonus
Black Mage and White Mage in the same party: M.Acc Bonus and M.Def Bonus
Dragoon and Bard in the same party: TP Bonus and Accuracy Bonus.

More than one of the same job would remove said bonus, so you couldn't just take 5 BLM and a WHM for the M.Acc.

You know, make it so there is a huge benefit to having just about one of everything, rather than stacking.

Also...do tanks have to have low damage just because they are tanks? I'm not saying put PLD at the top of the DPS output spectrum, but having reasonable, noticeable DPS that compares with a WAR on single targets isn't too absurd to ask, is it?

...

I just really like that part of the trailer. Steel Cyclone + Spirit's Within = Everything dies.
