Please ensure it is more functional than the FF11 auction house.

The FF11 auction house in every sense was a nightmare.

Model to follow: World of Warcraft, anything that auction house has please put it in.

And I still want to put my retainer in my house to sell things that are listed on the auction house please.

Im grateful we are even getting an AH. I hardly sold a thing cos i found the retainers so limiting and confusing.

I think FFXI's auction house was the most terrible AH I've ever used. Do not do that again SE....

It took me a while to get used to xiv's retainer system. However once I had I found it pretty straight forward to use. Hopefully whatever they choose to replace it will work even better

Same, it only got better once they made it possible to buy items from item search. That was basically an AH right there, just using retainers. The smaller areas you could go into to buy things from other cities from any city, while not having to search retainer to retainer, pretty much was what they needed in an AH system, and we already got that. All they need to do now is make the search broader and easier rather than put in a whole new system, which would be what we already have now.

Weird, it was the other way around for me. The FFXI AH was one of the games better features, vastly superior to other MMOs I'd played (WoW, LotRO).

I just hope that auction history isn't restricted to the last ten sales (to prevent people price-fixing) and that there is a S-E web interface for it (like the awesome FFXIAH.com).

Yeah just put a normal AH in with categories and filters/search field. Every mmo does it, I feel like they went backwards from XI in terms of AH.

You need to be more descriptive in order for us non -WOW players and the development team. We and possibly some of the development team, have no idea where you are headed with this. What makes the AH in WOW or EVE that much better.

All an auction house function as is an interface to sell or buy items from. No "forward' or 'backward' way of doing it. XI's worked as a basic AH system worked, Retainers worked as a basic auction house worked with the feature of your retainer buying the items for you, something most if not every AH lacks.

The retainer system only needed a few adjustments like separating NQ/HQ/Melded items. No one really bids on items these days due to the unrealistic price they end up so most people who want an AH are indeed referring to the style XI used.
