I think they just said they were behind by 2 months and 2 weeks, so if it was originally January, more like febuary or march.

And then if you get lucky, you could be playing the alpha by the 26th with possible invites to betas at some point between then and release.

What I don't understand is.. does it really take several months to transfer data?

I think they will finish to transfer the data in 2 month or so but, they won't make the official release till the game is ready with a lot of bugs fixed and so.
