Marriage feedback [inofficial Poll]

People need to stop with all this high horse crap, considering from the people here 2 in 100 will bother to do in game marriage.. if even.

I can think of more than 2/100 who would marry!

For those complaining about this thread's existence: Yoshi-P did ask for our feedback on the subject. If you have nothing intelligent to add to this conversation I'm sure there's a MLP thread somewhere that needs necro-ing D:
There's no 'high-horsing' or even complaining, we're trying to work together to find a solution that would work for everyone.
You're welcome to help us find that solution but if not, then you know where you can put your energies instead.

No marriage regardless of gender

My 2c are on the last one. Reasoning the playing field will remain even. No one can get upset, no one is singled out. This way the dev. team can focus on game content, game development, game stability. People want fair, well that's fair.

The last one is already ruled out. They are adding in marriage and a chapel to do so in. Not to have it is limiting the MMO gaming world. Various MMO's have marriage and marriage attire in their games.

Those are very limited options in any case. The actual best option is no GM sponsering of marriage. Adding in of items ether purchased from NPC's or crafted (going with crafted for the signatures) and player hosted weddings. With this, SE needs not take any stance on the SSM issue.

Well then i think your debate rather well solves it self. If you look at it either every one can or no one can. And seeing as the "no one can" option falls out what are you left with? Make it available to every one... you wanted a solution there you go. Any one not on a high horse, possessing an open mind would not object. People who want it will be happy. People with the mind set of the inquisition can deal with it. See that was not so hard.

Sounds kinda stupid doesn't it? That's because it is. I hope SE changes it so anybody can marry but not because of any of the reason given in this thread.

I feel this topic came from a gay community that is on the hot topic of gay marriage in real life. They feel repressed in real life so when they are "escaping" real life by playing an MMO and they see that an issue that is a hot topic for them in real life matches in an MMO they take to arms on that topic too.

Again I hope SE lets anybody marry anybody. I hope that the marriage in the game is just a silly ceremony and thats it. No extra benefits.

This is why it's stupid for SE to stop it because its a FAKE marriage in a video game. It means absolutely nothing. The fact that somebody is trying to restrict an act that means nothing in a video game is stupid. Then again I think that the fact that people are fighting for something soooooo trivial is funny. If people in this thread took the same activism to write your congress, hold rallies, and be more active in the real life community then maybe you'd change things instead of complaining about a video game.

If you changed society views on marriage first, then video games would follow suit. So please stop complaining about a video game that will change nothing and will mean nothing if you do marry in it.

I won't be reading this topic anymore because the amount of butt-hurt (pun intended) people about something so pointless is ridiculous. If this was a forum on something that mattered like a vote, a rally, a real life matter, then and only then would it mean something.

So any of you that think that if you change something in this game you'll feel better or get to "pretend marry". Go to a park, dress up, same some silly words, and kiss because that would be more real than what you're fighting for here.

It's already been mentioned in the thread that the 2 people getting married dont even have to be gay, or the same sex, in real life. One man and one woman both playing the same gender character. Nothing to do with what they are in RL.

Just to add to that top part. I'm hetrosexual and this is a big topic for myself as well (pro homosexual rights (I dont even have any real life homosexual friends - its just the right thing to do)).

I can get players not wanting to bicker in their video game time (who wants to bitch when they could play) but luckily these are the forums and not the game so bitching is great here ^_^ lol

Also am disappointed in SE for even having to ask about this issue - they have quite a few "highly" insinuated pro "gay" / gay comedy in their games and its always my passion to see gaming companies lead the progressive pack (great devs dont only make a great game, they make a great statements - depressed SE has to ask if they should make a statement).

Besides in this case it would probably have largely gone on unnoticed - most of the ingame SSM would have been SM in real life, instead now we got anti-gay rights and the other silly events like: "I dont want you and your wife marrying because you are both males in game - if you dont play your real life gender you must be punished".

They should add a divorce court as well because you look at the statistics marriages don't last very long know and days on either side make sure to make it expensive as hell to so have a realistic feel to it as well.

Also on serious note yoshiP also has to consider other countries besides US/Canada add if i miss someone. Were giving feed back but other countries opinions on this is just as important as any of ours disliking or not it were it stands at.
