No. After the shitstorm Tanaka created with 1.0, and the shift towards a new game build, they basically put all the current stories on hold so that they could bring out the Darnus/Dalamud summoning.

A lot of the early quests (most noteably the class quests) have plots that weren't really resolved that looked like they might be wrapped up in future quests, but it all got put on hold for the introduction of Grand Companies/7th umbral era storyline.

Well, the main storyline, aside from the Garlean invasion, is about "The calamity that will come, and more dangerous from the Garlemald"
What else more dangerous beside Bahamut

At first I assumed literally everything in Eorzea is destroyed, or at least most all of the cities. However, looking at the video again, if this was actually the case, then how are the archons praying at the shrines inside the city? This is shown after the initial destructive volleys into the city. It's reasonable to believe that they might have been hit by more after we're shown them praying, but for the most part it seems the major cities aren't completely destroyed, just severely damaged. This is directed at those, to who I shared common sentiments, that believed we had to be warped to a different dimension as well as time as there is no possible to way to completely rebuild cities that large in 5 years.

No one really knows where the line between the old team and the new team is. We know for a fact that the new team was responsible for changing the direction of the gameplay. However, they used tons of assets that were already created over the past year and a half. It's not unlikely that the doomsday storyline was already being crafted before Yoshida took over.
