But really let's all relax, it's a shame we aren't experiencing the final event but so is life. Let's look forward to the Live Letter and let's hope it doesn't devolve into just Yoshi saying he is sorry and forgoing all the information he wants to tell us.

Let's just keep trying to get in and see what we can experience.

It is nice of you to be optimistic, but the simple fact is, from what I can tell, less than half of the players are currently logged in experiencing the event.

And that's frustrating for a lot of people.

Of course it's frustating, I am as well but you just have to take it in stride. Us getting upset and making empty threats and insults (We will all be back regardless) doesn't really help the situation.

I'm sure they're doing the best they can with what they've got. It's not like they wanted the final event to be like this, but they don't really have a choice when 1.0 is a technical disaster in every sense of the word. That's why they're replacing the engine and servers for 2.0.

You know that when the timer hit 00:00:00 a link to a web site is supposed to pop up and there will be an end event vid there that shows you what happened... all you get in the game is a bunch of imps standing around and some of the magitech H-1 and Juggernauts... With the lag going on you will slowly kill them off and more will just pop... nothing will really happen until the server goes down and then the vid pops up and you can watch that...

Really people the in game event is nothing more then the same fight as in the towns...

Even though I don't particularly like people who are overly dramatic (and making threads upon threads), if there ever was a time people should be allowed to complain, it's now. They've hyped up this event for a year now. It's a one-off thing that we can't experience later, so it's no wonder that people are frustrated.

So all I missed out on was getting my ass handed to me by lag and mobs? I imagined this event would be like the recent trailers depicting the companies fighting the empire as Dalamud impacts and Loui coming up and casting a spell and tossing all players into the future and then the screen going black and saying "To be continued" but this scenario plays out better in my head then actually happening so I'm going back to bed night folks.

Here's the thing:

1. When SE announced over a year ago, they were creating a new version of the game, they also basically told us 'keep playing as you will get to experience a once in a lifetime event where we destroy this world' They told us this then.

So it is not unreasonable for those of us who are fans and who have played this game over the past 2 years to get to see it end. There is something to be said about finishing this and seeing it through to the end.

2. First, when I saw the event was at Brittlebark, and only for 2 hours....even BEFORE the said everyone could come back, I thought 'hmmm...this is gonna be interesting with the server structures.

But here's the problem. I'm the consumer. It is not my problem to plan for SE's mistake. It was their job to either make Brittlebark a stable area for literally the entire gaming population OR create an ending event that worked in such a way that it didn't overly strain the servers.

3. The R0's, congestion and the like.

SO yes, I can totally giggle about 'For the Love of the 12, can't they even get THIS right in this game?' or 'How Ironic it ends as it started'. ...but then it goes back to it's 2:30am my time, and as I don't speak Japanese, this IS my ending. The Live Letter from the producer will be a nice event I'm sure...but there is no real way for me to truely understand it now in the moment. Instead, I'll have to read the transcripts...when SE gets around to publishing them...in like a month.

4. Which brings me to the final 'I get it but really SE' frustration.

I understand they are a Japanese company with Japanese-speaking employees...that said, they market their game to the entire world and actively market it (and support it) in 4 different languages. It IS NOT unreasonable for people to expect their timezone to occasionally be the 'prime time' for events...nor is it a stretch to expect some sort of language translation as something happens if it is this important.

And this is why people are upset...it's not that we were too naive to believe this event would go off without glitches...but rather that SE who DESIGNED the game couldn't see, assess, and plan for the flaws we all could see.
