Please stop apologizing for them.
They really screwed up with this. They forced a very large group of people through a small space, knowing very well the limitations of the old server.

Im sorry SE and yes yoshi didnt think about this and they screwed everyone in the process. Yoshi should have known better but it seems he did not and there is nothing he can do to save face with the players. Seriously Yoshi can make all the excusses that he wants but at the end of the day its still an excuss. You know what they say excusses are like assholes everyone has one. I know I am not the only one thats bullshit about this mess that was created by Yoshi in his wonderful desion and Im willing to bet they will lose players because of this. So the big question will be will this happen again in 2.0?
I just wish there weren't so many value judgements here.
1- People are allowed to be pissed about the fact that an event which has been marketed for the past year has ended in a dismal failure. I understand why people are talking about the entitlement thing, but the truth is anyone who has been paying since they started charging has every right to feel like they've been screwed over. Moreover, alot of people played specifically because of this promised event. This should have been foreseen (if only by thinking back to the fact that THEY MERGED SERVERS!!!!) by the dev team and measures taken (schedule different end of world events per region and balance it according to the data they have - i.e. less EU/NA or JP players, have less mobs - which is information that any videogame company would be tracking).
2- If going to bed late isn't a problem for you, great! But you are not the only person out there. I go to work early in the morning during the week and so I'll go to bed around 10 pm most days. My body is conditioned to do that and staying awake was something I did exceptionally (and will only probably be repeated for xmas and new years). Not everyone has the same sleep cycle, so please keep that in mind before criticizing people for being annoyed and tired).
Anyhow, I'm going to bed now, and I'm not happy with how things are going. I'm fairly confident that they will figure out a way to make this right.
I don't consider it entitlement to be upset that an event you were invited to, and made time for, is not taking place. It's 2:30 in the morning and I made the time to be here. They know what the servers can and cannot handle and they didn't plan appropriately.
It's not a reason to get all emo about it, but it's certainly cause for a negative reaction. This could have been avoided.

gj dudes, gj
SE say that the people who pay up to now will get to the the 7th umbral era events, but when it comes to the event the get everyone who has ever played to jump on... Yes they restricted logins but from what I hear they didn't stop people with out an active account logging on completely.
While we were paying (even the Atomos event) this didn't happen, therefore it's the quitters who are taking up the server... Seriously I bet none of them gave SE a penny outside of the box sale, whereas someone who played from the alpha, and while there were a few billing issues I did get every month paid for... Why should I not see the event for some quitter who probably only paid 1 month (if that).
The problem isn't the servers as much as SE opening them to everyone recently.
you made a thread complaining about people complaining
do you feel better about yourself
