I trained as an opera singer, but my joe job is QA for a Social Gaming company. Currently thinking about taking a year off and doing a video games programming degree, but I'm not sure if I want to sacrifice the possibility of going out for auditions since the program is intensive.
I think its great how everyone is telling it how it is....and not sugar coating it to make them sound like they are the best thing since darklight gear.
I'm a web developer in an advertising agency. It sounds fun, but it definitely isn't !
I also run my own business. Trusts me, this is tiring :'(
I work in medical research for a state university. Our lab's focus is pulmonary hypertension and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
I don't want to derail this awesome thread but I would be curious to hear your opinion about this especially given the final scene of the end cutscene. The range of emotion conveyed with a few blinks and muscle flexes is immense and in other threads it was described that getting that "it's going to be ok" look was an emotional point that caused tears of sadness and joy. But, I noticed that all throughout this game from its very beginning the faces have been very animated in CG cutscenes (we can recall the "Three Expressions" gif one of the forum users had for a while from the opening movie haha) and even in-game with emotes. This seems to be a subtle, powerful detail that does a lot more than just flap lips (at all let alone in sync to words) when people speak and has been a neat thing to enjoy in this game. Perhaps even beyond the good work you are doing on the medical front that this is a continually-growing trend for games and movies?So fun and different to know everyone by what they do! So many cool jobs around
As for me I have a masters in Software Engineer, currently working as a researcher on facial animation and computer graphics, on a serious game to teach people with Autism to recognize facial emotions.
Geeze there are SO MANY more questions I want to ask everyone who has shared what they do for a living! Haha I was half-hoping we'd get a red-boxed answer saying "I am a Community Rep for a certain franchise MMO". XD;
Student about to attend University(I have 3 exams to go).
Civil engineering student who's currently interning at a traffic engineering firm that sets up smart systems all over the roads and intersections to determine how the flow of traffic should work.
Me, I endure the never ending hell that is retail, had to leave school due to both my parents coming down with cancer at nearly the same time. Now that everyone is in remission, I can finally re-enroll, focus on finishing my Digital Graphic Design major, and maybe improve my situation.
