FFXIV Crashes at Launcher everytime on Windows 8

Has anyone had this problem and been able to fix it? Because I just upgraded to WIndows 8 and now The Patcher crashes at launch every time before it even checks for updates...

I have even Uninstalled it and re-installed it but still crashes.

And yes, I still wish to access FFXIV even though the servers are going now Saturday. I want to be there for the final hour.

HAHAHA Never mind. I found the problem... Apparently there was a Windows Update that was not installed that was to fix the bug of this.. I am so happy the Launcher is working now...

How is Windows 8?

I put it on a laptop, and find it to be terribly slow.

Happy to hear that an update took care of this automatically Sevokevo_Royuki. The new release should be pleasantly farther in the Windows 8 product cycle and hopefully they'll be able to smooth some things out before we get into A Realm Reborn. As always, we recommend the big 3 system maintenance fixes, Windows Update, Graphics Card updates and DirectX updates, and this is a textbook case of that. Thanks again.

HAHA Actually the game runs pretty well on Windows 8... the OS was overwhelming for few days but now that I have things all set up... It is a really nice and beautiful OS.

There are 1 of 2 things they can fix though but I am sure they know this...
