I'd argue that it's not really beneficial to have them. It just makes things more stressful and encourages people to just rush through. Adding a time limit doesn't really make things more difficult in the sense I would consider something difficult, it just means people are going to find the path of least resistance and constantly use it no matter what. While it's true that most would normally do that anyway for the sake of efficiency, it would be nice for those who don't care about taking a little longer to do so.

Timers are the issue because, as I said, even if your group is fine with your afk time, the game isn't. The timer in the corner just keeps ticking away. Should you go afk for excessive amounts of time? No. However with time limits it doesn't matter what your group thinks. You're losing time plain and simple.
