How to start Living on a Prayer

Simple question, how do I start the Living on a Prayer quest? With today's maintenance
    - Conditions for triggering “Living on a Prayer” will be relaxed.
    * Players will now be able to receive the quest if they belong to a grand company.

Probably by talking to Louiseux, would be my guess. Talk to him and he should have a new conversation option for it (you may have to click an arrow to see all of the options). Also you can try checking your grand company.

Well firstly, you have to get halfway there.

    Not true! (SE)

Louiseux would barely give me the time of day, until I started the Ifrit battle quest, then he told me to go somewhere else. :O

I had already visited 10 of the 12 symbols just for personal achievement, and was very excited to hear that I could now do the quest for real (even though it won't carry over to ARR). Alas...

I also read somewhere there had been a lv45 requirement for Living on a Prayer, too. Maybe that wasn't relaxed either.

That was info missing from the original patch notes, you do need a level 45+ battle class as well as be part of a grand company. You can go ahead and check them again, it was added.

Also as was mentioned, make sure you check if you have a "Next Page" option at Louisoux, for whatever reason it's after the option to quit talking to him.

Neither the GC guy or Louisoix are giving me any options that weren't already there. I had "It Kills with Fire" since before the final save, but I decided to abandon and see if I would get any knew options. But nope, Louisoix still gives the It Kills with Fire quest and nothing else.

You need to have a battle class level 45 or higher. It was an oversight and was left out of the original patch notes but has since been corrected.

    - Conditions for triggering “Living on a Prayer” will be relaxed.
    * Players will now be able to receive the quest if they belong to a grand company and they have a class that is level 45 or higher in either the Disciples of War or Disciples of Magic discipline.
    * The conditions above were edited on Nov. 7 at 7:20 p.m. (PST) to add missing information. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
