    Certainly not, but they are a deal. If we're satisfied with everything else we've seen, why shouldn't we ask for them to improve the thing we aren't totally satisfied with. The game isn't released yet (and is an MMO besides), it's not a travisty to point out areas for improvement. The opposite in fact. Even a small annoyance is worth spending the time to fix if it's the biggest problem.

    You can focus on FUN without sacrificing aesthetics. A small turn animation wouldn't effect anything if it didn't lock you into place.

    A small stop and start animation wouldn't effect anything if it didn't lock you into place.

    I said it didn't make it worse. Not better. That's like, the exact opposite of what I said.

    They where good animations. They only brought the quality of the game up. Just because you don't think it's important dosn't mean everyone else has to. Mind you I wish some of us would have more tact, but I won't just let people say they shouldn't care, and I certainly won't let anyone tell me good animation is bad or unimportant.

    Taken from a Dev post and slightly modified. I think these would be some good rules of thumb to go by for all forum content. rather than flood page after page with the same thing, see how many people agree with a sentiment, i think this would be much more effective and waste less Dev time. but then again you can only like a comment once...

    i say its okay for them to leave these animations out of the game, when it makes the gameplay more fluent. Yoshida mentioned if they implement that animation back to the game it would mean we will lose about 1-2s time reaction again.

    1.0. is much about a worse delay.. (animation lock, lag, silly animations) which causes the gameplay to be sluggish finally.


    dealing with this argument i'd say im not fighting for a more worse game. (as you pointed out in your post)


    i like the way nintendo is doing their "thing" these days. focussing on fun and gameplay instead on trivial things.


    and when i watch that alpha video of 2.0. i say we finally get a real final fantasy. final fantasy 7-12 havent been worse either, because they lacked of that extra tip tap animation. "back to the roots"
    i feel more and more nostalgic after watching these videos and alpha screenshots.


    so Yoshida P. is doing it some kind of right.

    When did I say it wasn't important? I just feel that it's not the most important thing.

    I'm not trying to discredit your concern. I understand what you're saying 100% with the animations. The thing is, sometimes things just don't go your way. Yes, it's unfair, but that's how things work. You can't always get what you want.

    My advice: suck it up and deal with it. Believe me, I'm devastated that this game will never have awesome dance emotes, but I don't let that bring down my experience. I enjoy the game, so I keep playing it.

    as i said i like the idea of nintendo. focus on fun and gameplay thats much more important. and like yoshida said if it means that i have 1-2 seconds of time reaction more then i prefer it this way.

    Hundreds upon hundreds of games have fluent gameplay, with aesthetically pleasing animations.

    This isn't either/or. They aren't mutually exclusive. The problem with XIV wasn't based on the complexities of the animations, it was based on the animation lock.
