When you use 2d models they disappear against the right angles. To prevent this they make the grass follow your camera so it is always facing you (happens to leaves in a lot of games).

Its to save resources since making it truly 3d takes a good computer.

I think thats what you are talking about at least. You can see in the new ARR alpha part 2 video that the grass is made of multiple planes usually offset so that you always see at least one of the planes (so the grass just doesn't fully vanish but also isn't following your camera annoyingly).

That I know of it means treating serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humor; flippant.

So being facetious to me means they were joking about it but they consider it an issue (serious).

I wrote this post jokingly as a combination of all the myriad complaints that people have had about new 2.0 content (grass, animation lock, turning animations). I'm sorry for trying to make a joke on the internet. I'll never do it again.

Sarcasm and other negative tools dont always translate across very well :P, specially since of how these particular tools are designed it can often feel you are being serious to the opposite side. Its not the opposites side's fault they cant always detect it because of the type of tool you chose. (Nor is it illegal to use that tool besides the fact lol)

Lots of reminiscent FFXI features in there.. Smaller zones, how the character moves etc. Does it not seem this really caters to that gen of MMO players? Less "toony" more realistic characteristics even to that of 1.~ Must see Combat gameplay!!
