    C'mon guy, Yoshida didn't announce 2.0 until October/November 2011 around patch 1.19. You can read Letter 21 here which is the first letter he says the words "2.0": http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...598#post457598

    But you may be right about the animations. I honestly don't focus too heavily on animations except in battle so there's the difference of opinion.

    The previous engine was in development for at least three years, So i would expect that the new one was in development fairly early.

    I'm also as excited for 2.0 as much as everyone else, I just expect the best quality from Square Enix and as of this moment I'm not seeing it. If zones give us richer and more vibrant environments i'm all for it!
    We all have different preferences, and for me that's nice fluid animations. Some people might be disappointed at other things. it's all good.
