I so can't wait to play 2.0! Looks awesome!

they should re-release 1.0 beta version as a new game and call it wasteland. It would be a sandbox mmo where you can do whatever you want.
The animations look fine. Complainers just need something to complain about. Like grass. I seriously cringed when pepople started complaining about that. How about how the game plays people?

We need to see some game plays first :P. Just because your standards or prefrences are in different locations doesnt mean someone elses complaint isnt valid. "That isnt my worry - so it isnt a good point".
If you're interested in this game just because you want it to look pretty, there are a thousand other games out there you could play because of how pretty they look.
The grass thing, these alleged animation issues, this all small stuff. I wouldn't have even noticed if the people picking it apart didn't point it out. The videos clearly state "content is in development and subject to change" yet people keep acting as if everything they see is 100% final.

Telling people to go play another game because they want an improvement is silly - specially since the Devs have asked us to ask for improvements. (Also they arent alleged, there is a clear visual difference - I'd play either way but I would of course like it to look as good as it can). In a manor of 1.0 to 2.0, the flora looks a lot better they have included textures / color washes and smoothed the lines a lot (Unfortunately the same cant be said about animations). If you're interested in this game just because you want it to look pretty, there are a thousand other games out there you could play because of how pretty they look.

Though I 100% agree with you that people assuming alpha is the end all be all is also silly - we can expect improvement, and the ARR team is definitely supplying some great improvements.

Not my kind of city, but I must admit it looks much better than 1.0 Gridania. Good to see zoning is quick and painless too (we even get a title card!).
The jumping/pivot animations are a result of the new engine, which unfortunately compromises style for function. It's a net gain, though: no more ability lock at the cost of momentum and extra animations. If they can work the details into 2.0, that's great, but I think we are already a step ahead of where we were in 1.0.
It's hardly just animation issues. Camera control is the basis of gameplay. If I'm kiting an enemy I spin the camera around the opposite way so I can watch the enemies movement. If I see it get caught up on something I know I have some extra time to stop and cast to save myself or build extra hate. If the camera is locked to my back, do you say I need to put up with running backwards when I kite because it's 'small stuff'?If you're interested in this game just because you want it to look pretty, there are a thousand other games out there you could play because of how pretty they look.

Yeah I know it's alpha and incomplete, but unless people bring up aspects they don't like, then everything we see is in fact complete. They only change the parts we give them feedback on.
Thank you to the person who pointed out that the camera is shown moving freely in the live letter. I could see it pan around the character to view the front when crafting. I could also see the camera pan around the character in battle when it had a lock on a target. I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for though. I would like the camera to pan around the character when running in a straight line, without a lock on target. A simple toggle with the home key to unlock the camera from the characters back is all I ask.

looks great, the city feels so much more alive ...looks really good. can't wait for 2.0 for the reals.
