Need a LOVE <3 button, now!
Wanna add something.
If someone haven't seen recent trailer of the elder scrolls online yet, please take a look. With all that blah-blah about next great MMO and so on, when you see animations you CAN NOT take the game seriously anymore! I was like: What...? and then hahahahaha till the end of the trailer.
My point is XIV 1.0 had its distinct (and I repeat still unrivaled) style that I'm sure helped the game get through all negativity in the first place.
Though I still have high expectations about ARR and looking forward to, hate to say, some kind of guildwarsiness is killing me.
I guess it's about new auditory SE aiming for...

Agreed. Such an odd animation glitch (as I would call it) is uncalled for and has the potential to really hurt my level of immersion in this otherwise excellent looking world.

Good, thought I was the only one who felt strange about the animation. I really must say though, it really looks great and they have worked alot on everything. I just don't understand why they took off the natural, subtle and beautiful animation of walking/running. Now you stop walking as if a pupetteer took control of your character's body

Unfortunately I think the animation (or lack thereof) is a byproduct of the new control scheme designed primarily for use with keyboard/mouse. You will have to option to rotate the camera using the right mouse button, or rotate the character using the left mouse button. Left is mostly used for directing you character while running but if you turn him while standing still he simply rotates around a single axis. I don't know if they CAN change this at the current stage. But I can certainly hope....Good, thought I was the only one who felt strange about the animation. I don't believe in comparing games... the whole style is different. ESO has a particular flavor that I like, despite unrealistic features. Final Fantasy has its own unique flavor. Minor oddities in visuals (animation) do not affect game play. The game is the real issue. Is it a great game or meh. I hope SE will tell us more about what they have done to overcome the meh gameplay in FFXIV-1. You can't level up all the time... there has to be story. ESO is obviously heavy on story... that is a very good thing. If FFXIV does not improve the story then it will fail. You can't do fetch and kill quests without a underlying story. Massive game play requires a multiplex story with tangled threads all over the world. The trailer does not show any story.Wanna add something.

Hi Triairy & Yoshida-san,
Gridania is looking beautiful! Great job!![]()
I want to also mention one point of concern that some have mentioned:
- Please allow players who use Keyboard-Only (No Mouse) to have smooth and proper control of the Camera in 2.0 without using the Mouse!
I know you've mentioned 2.0 wants to use a more "standardized / common" control scheme for default, but I hope you allow Customization so players who are Keyboard-Only can enjoy this game to our liking.
- One other feature I hope you implement is allowing us to control how "fast / slow" the Camera can move.
I know some players may enjoy the super-quick / zippy FPS-style Camera (to spin around and look around like you're playing Call of Duty), but I prefer the smoother Camera options so you won't get sick spinning the camera around too fast by accident.
Please give us Options to customize how fast or slow the Camera spins and reacts.
Thank you! and keep up the great work! Gambatte!![]()

Completely agree, I mentioned it on another thread way back when but it's just frustrating to have such a jagged motion on the keyboard. Who knows if they will ever fix it though...

Looking good! I couldn't help but giggle when I saw the struggling moogle postman.

Looks amazing!!! Can't wait to explore all the new areas =D
