Crystals are pretty much a part of FFXIV's lore. Aetherytes thus have almost a 0% chance of being removed, given their role in both gameplay and lore.

That said, what do you mean by trading in teleportation portals? And I'm against personal checkpoints as well, would rather much prefer a permanent spot to be a returning point.
