    ARR and anima

    I've suggested this before, but I'm of the opinion that anima should be abolished come 2.0. As an alternative, I would be in favor of a FFXII-esque teleport system that would allow you to teleport as many times as you want, but only from crystal to crystal. I'm posting about this because I don't believe anything has been mentioned by the devs regarding 2.0's teleportation system, if there was some comment I missed about that feel free to let me know. Regardless, what do you all think about anima?

    I like anima the way it is now. I hope nothing changes.

    Though, if something like the teleport crags from FFXI were added, I'd be ok with those too. I just don't see the point in being able to be at any place at any time for free. Learn to run around the world.

    I hope we have to find a bunch of new camps again. I've got all the camps, and I'll be annoyed if there's no more to find in ARR.

    When the aetherite crystals were starting to cost 0 anima before the final save ... i started using them frequently to get some things done in those areas. Coupling this with the anima recharge from atomos when it was being killed frequently was soooo nice.

    Without having to worry about anima costs i did so much more than i normally do when logged in. It felt so free and nice. It made me realize just how much anima was holding me back from enjoying the game.

    I hope that whatever system is used in 2.0, it lets me feel as free as i did when the aetherites cost 0 anima and atomos recharged it every day. It would be nice if they had some other way to combat RMT's movements.

    I'm pretty sure none of those will carry over to A Realm Reborn. We're gonna have to re-explore the world (which I am BEYOND excited for)!

    Fast travel is an immersion breaker for me. In Morrowind for example, I loved having to use ferries and silt striders to get around.

    Even in XI, I enjoyed having to use a ferry and airship.

    I enjoy the journey more than the destination sometimes, but I still understand that a fast travel system is needed.

    I guess I'd prefer it if we could only go to cities or something, so there had to be at least a bit of travelling.

    When Anima was scarce it actually was pretty cool, you would actually walk a lot of the time.

    This and player housing are the two features I'm excited about the most. I'm happy to be under the sign of the wanderer. It suits me so well.

    Me too (well, not the Wanderer thing...Halone 4 lyfe!)! I'm going to be so broke when housing is added...because I will only spend money on furnishing it. :3

    I certainly loved exploring the world as a noob in ffxi, especially the first ferry ride, and airship ride. Even with scarce anima, explorition seemed to be a bit more self motivated for me in this game.

    I think the reason i would like the ease of travel as opposed to walking, or boating everywhere is that i tend to play a lot ... and practically live in the game. Doing a lot of events requires anima, and if you have none people seem a little less inclined to wait for you to choco to the location ^^;

    I also find myself not doing things because i have no anima ... or not doing certain things so i can budget anima for later use ... i rather have enough to do all the events i want without having to skip thing so i have enough for later, or beg others for an anima tele ^^;

    I am sure i will explore as much as i can when the game comes out, and learn everything like the back of my hand, and travel the old fashioned way when i have the time ... i just would like the option to go quickly if i want and not feel forced to do everything in exploration mode ... i want to explore when i want, that way it's even better

    I am sure i will adjust to whatever method is chosen ... i just hope it's something that doesn't limit people's want/ability to do many events quickly, since scheduling can become an issue ^^
