    This image pretty much encapsulates the best of FFXIV 1.0. This was the winning result of about 3 weeks worth of hard work to win Rivenroad Hard. It wasn't a LS doing a closed event, it wasn't somebody paying their way through the content. It was about 8 random players who got together to finish a difficult piece of content. We laughed, we got frustrated but we stuck together through thick and thin and got the win. No ego's, no blame, no drama over loot or any of that nonsense; just a shared commitment to win and help each other out. That's what a MMO should be about.

    Miner was my first job and I had such fun visiting out of the way places and using my pickaxe in solitude! Of course with such isolation comes a touch of madness and on this particular day, the monotony was driving me insane. Running around mining in my swimsuit while laughing and posing brought quite a number of looks from the few passersby. I don't think I'll ever escape from the mark those early days of DoL brought upon me. But a reminder - fun can be found in any situation!
