i dont have the gil 2 buy those double melded items, but i did have the luck to make them at leastWhy do so many people say getting a relic is all about luck? Lol. Seals are really only about luck if you pug. They are very common drops most the time (though I have seens many runs without them, they are still pretty common). If you just buy a double meld then you take the luck out of that since someone else wasted their time to do it and usually there are always double melds up. Killing stronghold NM isn't luck. Doing 17 cc/av isn't luck. Doing 15 DH isn't luck. 1k Caravan can somewhat be luck but also requires non lucky things to get it. Behest doesn't require luck. Currency I guess can be considered luck if you farm since it has RNG of dropping? You can buy currency off wards though. SBing isn't luck. The leves aren't luck. Garuda isn't luck, Ifrit Extreme isn't luck.
Wow..... getting a relic really requires a lot of luck el oh el.![]()
You did come off as a jerk.I'm sorry but your reasoing is so flawed. I know we won't keep them, and even if I'd like to, I think it's better that way. Not because I'm morally opposed or because I want to "earn" it, but simply because it's just a silly event. C'mon guys, you have GMs Rick Rolling people...
And I'm sorry, but get out of your moral high horse. You wouldn't throw it away. You "earn" NOTHING in this game. Relic quest starts based on RNG dropped seals (unless top 3), your doublmeld is also dependant on RNG. To be honest, saying you'd rather "earn" it, is just craving for attention. I myself was pretty lucky, got all my seals upon 9 or so days before save, and got my doublemeld 1/1. Do you think I earned it? Because I don't. Yes, I might have put in a lot of hours, but not more than some of my friends working on their second relics, and trust me, if they got to keep new relics, they would.
Hope I didn't come off as a jerk, but to be honest, stop posting about what you think you should post and actually post what you really feel about the situation. It'll come out more natural, too!
High horse? Really? Because I say that I do not want a free Relic I'm on a moral high horse? Did you not even read my post?
I want to earn it because I get satisfaction from earning my equipment. I'm the type of person who enjoys that sort of thing. I would throw it away and I wouldn't regret it one bit.
And as someone who complained a lot about the RNG in the quest, I was one of the first people to praise them for the latter part of the quest that does take time and skill which makes you "earn" it.
The fact that you get so defensive with people disagreeing and talk about "morals" when it wasn't even relevant shows me that YOU think it's wrong. I am just giving my opinion on this thread and what I would do and for you to tell me I shouldn't or that I wouldn't is absurd to say the least.
We shouldn't get to keep them, end of.

Wow..... getting a relic really requires a lot of luck el oh el.hey you added more specifics to what I said earlier..He should also realize that getting a relic in a fast time is mainly based on your luck in double melding or how much funds you have to spend on someone elses luck and not much more. Everything else takes skill, but can be done quickly after that. There needs to be more objective based parts of the relic quest to make it actually take a more set amount of time, and not some POS imbalanced RNG sink in it that makes it take as long as it takes to get the melded weapon, which is... random.
But, because of how the quest is, once the -luck and/or gil spending- portion is done, everything else can be K.O.d pretty fast with nothing but re-entry timers stopping you. Most of it has very little fun-factor in it either, as repetition isn't really fun.
Still hopin they plan on major improvements to the quest or new quests for aquisition for relic weapons~

Wait, aren't you that guy that makes threads and shouts to buy white ravens and Ifrit extreme? Surely you are totally qualified to speak about luck. Why do so many people say getting a relic is all about luck? Lol. Seals are really only about luck if you pug. The idea of keeping these relics is stupid. The idea of giving them out is cool because it gives people that don't have them motivation to actually log in and play the game if they don't already have them, and alot of people probably never will. My only question is, where are my Super Relics SE? giving out relics is cool and all, but it doesn't really make me want to log in when I have already had them for months. Fireworks are not a suitable replacement. I demand more because I am an entitled bitch.

hmm... they should have a contest and the winners get to keep the relics. I would think that way it wouldn't be such a big tease because then we would all have a chance to win
Im sure someday we will get our own version of "Moogle Bonanza" until then I am glad for this experience to play with the relics because it has changed my mind from working on BLM relic to PLD. I suggest you take some time, play with your non relic weapons and then swap them out to have a better feel for what relic might suit you better since you have the chance to actually "Try" them out. It's also funner then arguing about who works harder, heh heh

Ah, but will facing north-by-northeast at 2:45 a.m. while the moon is a waning crescent result in a 27% increase in your chances to synthesize HQ mythril ingots!? That is real the question! ~Fernehalwes~
