There's a difference between wishing you could keep the relic and being a whiny brat who ragequits any time they don't get everything they went. Maybe when you grow up a little, you'll know the difference.

I'm surprised to see how spoiled some of you are. S-E tosses people a free (temporary) bone as a reward for sticking through everything. And people are already trying to abuse their kindness. Then again this is human nature for wanting more and MORE!
Just be happy that you can stare at the relic for a few days and even wield it. I for one am quite happy and seeing the weapon in my character's hand actually makes me want to work to obtain one when ARR is released. While I couldn't care less before to obtain it.

Who doesn't enjoy free stuff?
Relic's as gifts for the end of the world and a bit of fun. Sure sounds good, people can try them out under 1.0 build and maybe push them to start seeking relic for 2.0 if they really want to.
People wishing to keep them for 2.0 because they feel that they have earnt them for playing after the final save. wut? I am biased to this, but would imagine most pre 01/11/12 relic holders be rather miffed to say the least, I know I would ><
People complaining that they have not gotten 7/7 yet because the keep getting duplicate relics (¬_¬)
It's a bit of fun, enjoy them while you can if you dont have them already and make some epic full relic defender screenshots of the last stand of the 7th Umbral Era. This is no different to, make multi melding success 100% or guarentee Darklight drops, the melding success thing would be rather cool imo although materia demand would go nuts so would probably only work if there was a materia dispenser lol.
Also not sure if it this thread or another, but the person who thinks that he deserves relic for free for use in 2.0 because he thinks that 1.0 Relic quest was a pure timesink needs to be shot ><.
Hamlet was a timesink plain and simple, the doublemeld depending on the luck factor and SB which was just annoying. Everything eklse could be done rather quickly and was more than doable to complete, from start to finish, of A Relic Reborn in a week.
Edit - just saw that Damien Ramirez put a comment which relates to Relic Timesink, I was thinking of another poster, cant remember who but he basically put it down it a much more "it's gods given right to give me everything" tone which the above comment was aimed at. apologies if the comment seemed sharp, I am gonna go look for the post I saw now.
Edit edit - cant find it anymore but point still stands.

Lol. agree with the 2nd to the last part. Also how awesome would it be if they made materia melding 100% now. ^_^ who knows there might be some other stuff the nerfed instead of relics that no one has tried out yet.Relic's as gifts for the end of the world and a bit of fun. Couldn't agree more. Upon the day of finishing my seals, I got to turn in the dmeld next day and basically got all my ores and salts (minus the last one, sadly!) in two days. The bottleneck was Hamlet and the doublemelds really depended on your luck. I had friends that went 1/1 on Mailbreaker and Obelisk, yet others are at least 6~10+.
Even if Hamlet was easy, in its own way, it did part people that wanted to dedicate themselves to getting the seals from others that just got them along the way in random groups. If you really put yourself to it, getting the seals wasn't that hard.

I'm sure they are already working on better weapons to strive for than relic.
Would love to keep one <3

Lmao, as much as I would feel the same as you guys if I didn't have relics... You really couldn't expect to keep them >_>
This is SE's way of getting the remaining people playing pumped/excited for 2.0 and hopefully make the people who hesitated in 1.0 try hard to get relics in ARR. What is really nice about this, is people can evaluate the usefulness of these relics, and hopefully determine which one they think looks best/has the best stats.
I feel bad for the people who are 5/7, or 6/7... The likeliness of them getting the relics they don't actually have already is probably pretty low >_>"

This topic, and the responses it has received are the reasons that people look so poorly on the english speaking population of MMOs.
I can imagine the conversation at SE.
Yoshi-P "I think that after the last save, we should do all kinds of things to keep people excited about the end and ready for 2.0. Let's even give relics to everyone who did not yet get a relic; we can put it under their beds!"
Devs "That sounds like a great idea. That way, players can have the best weapons for what we throw at them, and they can experience what the weapons are like to get them excited about getting their own permanent ones!"
Wada "Yes, but the English speaking players will have significant butthurt. In fact, the more we do to try to make the end more memorable, the more they will complain that it sucks and is lackluster. We could ship them each a gold brick and they would complain that it is not enough to pay off their mortgages or buy a nicer house, then they would tell us they were cancelling their subscriptions and how the gold is so lackluster."
Yoshi-P "Ah, yes, I did forget about those stupid and overprivileged hipsters, perhaps we should scrap the idea... but what if just one player enjoyed it?"
THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS!!!
