Wait, aren't you that guy that makes threads and shouts to buy white ravens and Ifrit extreme? Surely you are totally qualified to speak about luck. Why do so many people say getting a relic is all about luck? Lol. Seals are really only about luck if you pug. They are very common drops most the time (though I have seens many runs without them, they are still pretty common). If you just buy a double meld then you take the luck out of that since someone else wasted their time to do it and usually there are always double melds up. Killing stronghold NM isn't luck. Doing 17 cc/av isn't luck. Doing 15 DH isn't luck. 1k Caravan can somewhat be luck but also requires non lucky things to get it. Behest doesn't require luck. Currency I guess can be considered luck if you farm since it has RNG of dropping? You can buy currency off wards though. SBing isn't luck. The leves aren't luck. Garuda isn't luck, Ifrit Extreme isn't luck.
Wow..... getting a relic really requires a lot of luck el oh el.

Well you see
The history of the Earth encompasses the development of the planet Earth from its formation to the present day.[1][2] Nearly all branches of natural science have contributed to the understanding of the main events of the Earth's past. The age of Earth is approximately one-third of the age of the universe. An immense amount of biological and geological change has occurred in that time span.
Earth formed around 4.54 billion (4.54×109) years ago by accretion from the solar nebula. Volcanic outgassing likely created the primordial atmosphere, but it contained almost no oxygen and would have been toxic to humans and most modern life. Much of the Earth was molten because of extreme volcanism and frequent collisions with other bodies. One very large collision is thought to have been responsible for tilting the Earth at an angle and forming the Moon. Over time, such cosmic bombardments ceased, allowing the planet to cool and form a solid crust. Water that was brought here by comets and asteroids condensed into clouds and the oceans took shape. Earth was finally hospitable to life, and the earliest forms that arose enriched the atmosphere with oxygen. Life on Earth remained small and microscopic for at least one billion years. About 580 million years ago, complex multicellular life arose, and during the Cambrian period it experienced a rapid diversification into most major phyla. Around six million years ago, the primate lineage that would lead to chimpanzees (the closest relatives of humans) diverged from the lineage that would lead to modern humans.
Biological and geological change has been constantly occurring on our planet since the time of its formation. Organisms continuously evolve, taking on new forms or going extinct in response to an ever-changing planet. The process of plate tectonics has played a major role in the shaping of Earth's oceans and continents, as well as the life they harbor. The biosphere, in turn, has had a significant effect on the atmosphere and other abiotic conditions on the planet, such as the formation of the ozone layer, the proliferation of oxygen, and the creation of soil. Though humans are unable to perceive it due to their relatively brief life spans, this change is ongoing and will continue for the next few billion years.

Im sure someday we will get our own version of "Moogle Bonanza" until then I am glad for this experience to play with the relics because it has changed my mind from working on BLM relic to PLD. I suggest you take some time, play with your non relic weapons and then swap them out to have a better feel for what relic might suit you better since you have the chance to actually "Try" them out. It's also funner then arguing about who works harder, heh heh

Ah, but will facing north-by-northeast at 2:45 a.m. while the moon is a waning crescent result in a 27% increase in your chances to synthesize HQ mythril ingots!? That is real the question! ~Fernehalwes~

I voted both yes and no. Its a paradox ! It would break the whole relic concept, but you just cant freaking say no to a relic weapon :P

Anyone complaining about the gil it takes for a double meld really needs to understand how to make money in this game. If you could have spent two weeks worth of "average gamer" time, so 28 hours of game time, which would easily make over 16mil (more if the coins are hot on the weekend). That would be enough to buy your double meld (unless doing BRD/DRG/WAR/PLD) and have enough to purchase (or just don't sell) the coins you actually needed.
The gil farming rate is 3mil/5hours on average.
i suppose i was quite lucky with the relic meld. I just spend about 2 hours gathering the mats and made my astrolabe. i had 1 materia so just bought another and double melded on first and only try. ^_^
