I thought so too, but they mentioned before a release so people can save the appearance from the creator for their launch appearance.

There will be two benchmarks as stated by Yoshi-P in the Live Letter III...

One before the Beta for people to check against their Computer Specs, and the Second one coupled with the Character Creator just before the launch of ARR.
