It's simple, this idea rewards the cheap and lazy while promoting RMT and pay to win gameplay. You start a thread and troll for 3+ days and 63+ pages where you dismiss everybody else with your opinions and claim that they're facts and that you "decimated their arguments" when really all you've done is make yourself look pathetic. It's a tragic display indeed.

And it's all simply because you don't really play this game (2 50s but 2500 posts) So the logical conclusion is that you want to earn gil without having to do anything in the game.

Yoshi P doesn't necessarily disagree, but he's not going to tell you that. In fact he basically told gave you a "not anytime soon". TBH I couldn't care less if it was added or not, either way wouldn't affect me. Although I do disagree with some points made against this idea, it has become a big dick competition over who has more brain cells in their empty skulls.

There's only one strong point: If you legitimately think this would be damaging to the game (as in, it would damage the economy) you either:

A) Don't understand the original point
B) Have a very limited perspective on the MMO market in general

I'm fence sitting, because I don't think it would necessarily help anything, but to think it would actually damage the economy is stupid.

Also add to the fact, that the people who are going to buy gil are still going to buy it regardless.

Actually, pointing out i "don't play the game" is a plain lie (yes, in this case the term is used properly).

As a matter of fact I'm playing it right now, I started playing earlier than you did (actually in alpha., beta and through the whole first year of the game) and I played it in live for a total of 14 months on mysidia first and gungnir afterwards, as my lodestone history can easily prove.

So much for "don't play the game". Oops.

All I have to "gain" is a MMORPG with a stronger, more solid playerbase, less susceptible to the influence of newer games, that grants more revenue to the developer/publisher, and in turn grants more *content* for me to enjoy.

I never purchased money in any MMORPG I played, whether it was legal or illegal (I don't really need to). But I'm not into demonizing those that do when it's legal. It doesn't influence my game experience one bit. Come back to me when you can prove the contrary.

You can tell the single MMO players here. Let me guess you've only played XI and XIV.

Unfortunately one of the biggest problems of FFXIV is that most of its most hardcore playerbase never put its nose outside of a SE-developed MMORPG.

It's truly lucky that Yoshida steered the game radically away from the viewpoint of those people (that matched Tanaka's leadership perfectly) and towards a more global and open minded market.
