Low poly has never been an issue for me. I just take it as part of the charm. A representation of its era.

Lol ok you can go back if you like but since the aby expansion XI has gone to shit.

That's a matter of opinion. I stopped playing 5 years ago to pick it back up again recently, and it's refreshing to be able to log in and actually accomplish something, rather than sitting around for hours on end waiting for an xp group.

I was surprised to see quite a few players I knew still playing when I walked around town though.

Same here, I saw many people from my original server that I recognized. Some of them were ones that tried FF14 briefly at the beginning, then apparently went right back to FF11.

My motivations for going back are simply to get something to 99 and try to solo all of the story that I wasn't able to experience when I was playing before (mostly CoP) so I don't plan on getting sucked into the whole Magian/VNM crap. I'll just buy whatever high level gear is available and go from there.

I've already gone back to FFXI once and then left it again. I can't see myself ever going back. Here's to hoping that MWO beta and War Z alpha can hold me until AAR.

Been playing like 2 days, and I find it quite enjoyable for fresh starter here. Taking my leisure time to watch chocobo race. XD

And those who says can quick lvl up, it's possible if u're a returning. But for someone who really starting this game (as in really never played this game before), I doubt can quick lvl that fast. ;D

Some of my friends went back to FFXI. I've entertained the idea of joining them, but it turns out I can't, because I've lost my password. I can't reset it until I merge my FFXI and SE accounts, and to do this I need to enter - that's right - the very same password.

I've contacted support about this, and they said I should provide either four numbers from my credit card or the code I've used to create FFXI account. Now, it's been forever since I've played that game, the card I've used to pay for it has long since expired and I can't find the goddamn box.

In short, I am f@#$%d.
