The Mysterious Tree

I know People have already discussed this topic already but, It has been a while and I was wondering if anyone ever figured out what this does/is for?

I posted a Video of Myself and a few LS mates on the last server save running around messing around with it.

I know of 2 trees like that. The first is the one shown there, near the Goblin NM in Treespeak, the second near the Homesteading near Nine Ives, where Gerolt from the Relic Quest lives. From what I recall, those trees are some kind of anchor for the Hedge, the magical force that keeps intruders away from the wrath of the elementals.

One thing I am interested in, is if there are more of these trees. The two I listed are NW and NE. It would make sense for there to be 2 more trees in the SW (Crimson Bark) and SE (Tranquil) of the black shroud

This had already been brought up in another topic, and I had already explained it. These are Hedgetrees. They mark where the protective barrier around Gridania is. It was explained in one of the Gridania quests. They say that the trees that are marked as hedgetrees glow with magical energy when approached.

There was a Gridania GC mission where you were tasked with helping them put up a stronger hedge to repel the Garlean forces, but the Garleans thwarted it before it could be finished.

So it's clear that the current outdated hedge around The Black Shroud isn't powerful enough to repel the present threats.
