Great they're doing this but it kind of feels like it lacks the drive to really log in. I don't need a reward but something beyond monster-spamfests would be nice. Give a little initiative beyond overly powered mobs that will destroy you with their little pinky. Honestly I had hoped there would be more to it like a greater interactive story beyond "Attack targets that spawn in the city while NPCs stand around idly watching". I haven't logged in since after the maintenance for a short battle or two outside the city and lost interest after awhile. And from the looks of it I'm not missing much either.
Just chill out. Kick back, sip on a cocktail and enjoy the destruction. Now I love a challenge as much as the next guy, more-so really. I was down there in the airship basement on the day of both versions of Nael's release welcoming the challenges of both fights with open arms.
But this.
This is just stupid.
This is people blindly throwing themselves at level 90+ monsters that have a nearly 100% physical and magical evasion rate.
This is relic paladins getting 1-shot with full buffs.
This is spending half an hour to do under 1% damage to a golem.
This is waiting around for something like a skeleton or a chimera that we can kill.
This isn't a challenge. This is sadism on your part. Tone back the mob difficulties to something doable.
Yes I know it's the apocalypse. Yes I know we're all screwed, but unless the goal is to force everyone to stop logging in, you're doing this event wrong. Legions of strong monsters that we can barely fend off only to see a new wave on the horizon fills a player with a sense of dread and helplessness. Seeing a legion of monsters that, even with gear good enough to beat Nael (Hard), can be successfully hit 1/20 times fills players with a sense rage.
Before long ol' Dally will hit the planet and AOE one-shot the lot of them. We, however, will be whisked safely away and straight into ARR
Hooray for happy endings!
I'm kinda getting a kick out of it personally.
The inevitability of it all keeps reminding me of "Too Late The Hero", from the late, great John Entwistle (RIP). I'm probably aging myself by linking that song![]()

If making something so boring that you're just mindlessly throwing your character at things to eventually log out because you can't even really do anything than I have to agree, it fits perfectly with "the end".
With the whole "Dont miss out on the finale! the last couple days be sure to log in!" I expect a bit more than just dying, running back, dying, or auto-attacking for miss4000 + 5 dmg for about 5 hours.
The JP have probably already figured out how to get any relic they want, any DL they want, white ravens, and anything else in the game that they want from this final event. Meanwhile we're complaining about it.
Pull the stick out people.
What else were you going to do in the downtime before the 11th?
More Ifrit?

They have been giving us hints about what we're suppose to do. i really don't think we're suppose to fight these mobs head on, we need to do something at the god stones. i'm almost sure about this.If making something so boring that you're just mindlessly throwing your character at things to eventually log out because you can't even really do anything than I have to agree, it fits perfectly with "the end".

I tried praying at my god stone, with the ring on. Nothing. No flash of light, no message, nothing. No indication that anything is happening.
