Before this turns into another pissing contest, let me say first im not arguing with you, i just think its going in a different direction. Im happy other people are discussing arcanist/summoner since we still dont have alot of info to work with

I think you can have the option to replace carby with a different creature. Arcanist/ summoner is supposed to be a pet job, so i dont see a one shot ability as being such. Im gathering (perhaps in the offhand slot) you equip a gemstone to either transform carby or to call a different entity. That would be like saying to a pld, "well you had rage of halone as a gld, but you cant use that as pld.". I dont know how that would work.

Jist like yoshi said, carby will have a tank option and a casting option. I think this is where summoner branches out. Different pets will have different uses. As far as chupon and the such, lol im just really hoping chupon is one.

You could be right though, who knows? Some of the class to job changes are more extreme than others. Gld to pld is similar, however with arc brd you go from dd centric to party support.

What i meant by carby not being set by other jobs is that you arent gonna see a warrior or blm running around with carby, just as you dont see a non cnj/whm casting curaga.
