    did he crash land back in uldah or something? i couldn't find him (or his kitty sidekick) anywhere.

    No no no! Let me believe that after that ultra-fun final quest he really missile-landed on Dalamud and there he will stay, until called for!

    I want to believe that Dalamud's power is generating Nael van Darnus' clones (since I believe he was kind of “absorbed” by the red machine in his last moment on Rivenroad), and thus generates Hildibrand's Aura (Music) as well, since he's also up there!

    Guess since the game is over it isn't too spoily to observe that the lance found in the pumpkin patch looked very much the same as the one that fell from Rivenroad as you'll observe in the cutscenes. After defeating NvD it simply falls away as the place collapses. In Hildebrant's, you find one buried in the neglected plot that looks like it, too, has a gun attachment as is unique.
