Gone (??) but certainly not forgotten... Louisiox, a true Hero!
It would help, Elexia, to provide more context to those links instead of throwing them out there and say "look right there".
The fiscal report for 2012 was on May 12th I think it said, so you can assume the 2011 one was also around that time. So that covered everything from May12th for one year.
When Wada mentions resources from HD Games (PS3/Xbox/Wii w/DLC) are moving to FFXIV he probably means when they originally decided to make ARR in June 2011; as thats the date they would have had to start to get a start on the client for the announcement. This means SE's HD Games are going to suffer until June 2013-2014 when they reallocate the resources back to other projects. Going by this its entirely feasible FFvsXIII's team has been working on ARR since June of 2011, not just thrown on board like some people are assuming. It also would fit into the rumor a few months ago of Vs was no longer being developed.
Wada also mentions ARR will be released in this (2012) fiscal year, or by March 31st 2013. However, I do recall reading somewhere that ARR will be released in Q1 of fiscal year 2013 (April 1st -> June 30th) but that may be my memory remembering something incorrectly.
So the point of my post is, yes I can believe Vs team is (and has been for a while) working on ARR.
What I will not believe is the estimated release dates from this "source" until I see concrete dates posted by the company as with everything, dates for release can change for a multitude of reasons.
When do you think 2.0 will start?
I am thinking Nov 12th. The reason I say that is look at the roadmap - http://gdl.square-enix.com/ffxiv/dow...Roadmap_EN.pdf
And before I get flamed for my statement, and for those who think am crazy, I have one question.
Can we agree that up until this point the roadmap has been followed to the letter? If you say yes, look at the mark when 2.0 free version will is scheduled to start. It is the beginning of Nov and no I am not talking Alpha.
They have been working on 2.0 all year and we are now currently "Stress testing the servers."
Early Christmas anyone?
A boy can dream cant he. . . .

NO, not in this forum.
My personal prediction is between February and April. That's when Square Enix loves to release numbered chapters of the series in the west, and it makes sense with the current beta schedule. It could be SLIGHTLY earlier if SE wants to rush out (but not by much, I don't think it's realistic to predict a release anywhere before the end of january). or later if they want to take their time, but that window is the one that makes the most sense in the current conditions.
You guys need to start believing this information. If you look at all of the things the need to implement and test, do you really think its going to be a hop, skip, and a jump?
Use your heads.
This. What makes you think it will be re-released anytime soon? They are still developing stuff as we speak. We haven't seen or heard details on major systems..because they are still making them! If it re-released in the summer that would still be pretty miraculous and probably not include much new content.
It's irrelevant. All of it is.
The game will get done when it is done. My point is that the jaded cynicism of this forum needs to be gutted; literally and violently.
So far the moral implications are really looking to be trivial compared to the sheer vicarious delight it would give me to hear one story of some internet hater impaled on a pike, Vlad style.
This isn't about the game or your concern for its quality. It's not about having so called 'standards' that disappear when it actually comes time to act on them. This isn't about what's even right or wrong. This is about purposefulness being contrary and jaded in a vain attempt to elevate one's self above others, be it fans, critics, developers or corporate office.
And it is revolting, plain and simple. Discussions like these are the primary reason why I never hold internet communities with any real respect.
Until official word on a delay of intended release is given, it is pointless to try to imply it, as you're just being accusatory at that point.
As far as a matter of personnel shift from one project to another - that is blatant and vindictive flamebait. What a corporation does with their manpower is their business, and being hung up on Verses XIII is just sad at this point. People should move on with their lives and quite trying to micromanage others'.
Now excuse me while I go murder a few thousand more burbles.
I was reading through the new Letter from the Producer LIVE Q&A post and headed over here and saw this really off-the-wall rumor being discussed in a thread that is sadly coupled with a lot of personal insults between a few users. I'm going to close this and ask users refrain from attacking each other and instead focus on fighting for and protecting Ul'dah from monsters. (It needs it… in case you haven't noticed.)
