I really hope this was just a prank of some sort. While I'm not about to grab my pitchfork and a torch yet, if they make me wait this long to return I'll have no doubt found another game. I'm counting on this game to be released in early 2013 but if we need to wait until the middle of the year I'll probably be looking elsewhere for a new game. And I know I'm not the only one that would be going that route. Who wants to wait nearly seven to eight months to pick up where they left off again? By this time new and more promising games will have surfaced and are bound to catch a former FFXIV player's attention.

You can be as hardcore as you want but it's bound and likely to happen. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be so impatient I want a half-finished product yet again. But over a half a year's wait is a very long time and the average gamer these days doesn't have the patience to wait that long.

If it's true, I would imagine it would probably for the PS3 version to come out in July. Since they're about to end the first alpha phase in Japan tomorrow and the second phase will start up short after that for PC.

Because it's definitely better for them to repeat the mistakes of 1.0 and announce a set in stone release date, rather than have enough time to make sure everything is perfect and add in more launch content and be able to say "it's done when it's done, even if it takes half a year in beta".

Besides, you all -know- you'll be furiously wanking to any and all beta news while waiting for the game to release. Oh no you might get a character to max level in GW2 in the meantime, whatever will we all do.
