That would be because you're believing an unsubstantiated and unrealistic rumor coming from a random "source" that holds no credibility whatsoever, and drummed on by FUDmongers that hold even less credibility.

You know what's worse than the FUDmongers? The people constantly talking about the FUDmongers. Look, to be quite honest, I don't think the supposed "FUDmongers" are what you think they are. I think they are just people who are being cautiously pessimistic for a reason.

Optimism: Prepare for the best, but be constantly disappointed when things comes up short.
Pessimism: Prepare for the worst, and perhaps be pleasantly surprised by reality on a frequent basis.

I'm typically cautiously pessimistic, so I get where people are coming from when they talk about longer time-frames. I'd personally rather assume the game is coming out in July 2013 and have it arrive in March, but at least if it doesn't arrive until later, I'm not terribly disappointed.

it's not surprising that they'd dive on this crapola like vultures trying their hardest to pump it up as fact.

As a matter of fact I don't have "expectations" on a release date, but as one that does the job he does, I learned to distinguish between an unsustantiated rumor with zero credibility and a source that can hold some.

This belongs to the first type.

Release Date for ARR always told not before April/May 2013... January/February only Beta.
July instead of Spring not so far away. We can still play with FFXI
