The rumor doesn't say they moved resources. It says they moved the whole team, which not only isn't realistic, but also contrasts with official statements regarding the fact that work on Final Fantasy Versus XIII is continuing.

Sorry, but trying to twist the rumor to make it fit doesn't really work.
