Would it be possible to make it that the lower the durability of gear, the more your outfit gets torn/chipped/scuffed up in 2.0?
Or have gear/weaposn specifically designed to look tattered and worn?
Damaged-looking gear looks cool sometimes to me.

Yeah me too, but right now they can't be bothered too much with graphical bits-and-doodles.
This is (was?) actually in the game. At least for the older stuff, as durability worsened, so did the item's appearance. Not entirely sure that feature is still in the game though.
good idea you get my vote.
I want <3 boxer shorts like in ghost and goblins when my gear hits 0%
Would be a cool thing to have when vanity slots come out.
Since no one's said it...
Too much effort on the part of the artists. This would likely slow the rate at which we get new gear, so... Do not want.
i prefer fewer gear, with great stats and original design/quality that last longer than now, to have a long term goal, for me is BS that after all the trouble new and better gear is delivered in short periods, is better having not spaming bosses and large Nm's unbeatable for the majority but with good drops, just like they say 3-4 rare drops per kill.
So yeah i would love having displayed whats the status of your gear is atm....
