So...
I kinda get the story... not going as deep into it as you guys, because I'm not so good at it, but I do have one question...
What is Carbuncle?

Thanks for that. I was just trying this yesterday looking at the cutscenes. To add to what you said about the hints of tragedy, there was a quote by O-App-Essi that was "In the end they forgave us the fire, but none shall forget the loss of life that was suffered." In combination with them all talking about how Fye had such a tragic life, I assumed it meant Khrimm or Dunstan died. But if it were the former, he couldn't turn into the Hermit. If it were the latter, he couldn't have opened the hedge.
I don't think they were unaware of it, they in fact call it by name. As Papalymo says, "Do you need even ask? We should have stopped it and we didn't. It has begun. The winds of change have already swept over Eorzea. We are only just now realizing it. The Echo has sounded... And nothing can stop it now." So they're just surprised because they didn't expect to experience someone using it. Now, why they were trying to stop something, that is what I don't understand.
Papalymo and Yda were aware of it...well mostly Papalymo as Yda is a silly girl but good with her fists. He recognizes it but maybe he doesn't have the Echo..at first i thought all Archons had it but now i'm inclining more towards to that only Y'shtola has it in the gang and she moves them all around..
What Papalymo says that needed to be stopped was the breaking of the seal..they all had different approaches to it ..Tanchred was more like trying to figure out what catastrophe was going to fall on Ul'dah specifically when in fact the tragedy was going to affect the entire world which leads me to think that the information Warburton was supposed to deliver was that the Empira was going to launch a massive attack to Silvertear Lake and take over all the crystal resources ...the breaking of the seal was an accident...and the star shower maybe marks the death of Midgarsormr
To pour a little bit of cold water, Futures Perfect has the archon you meet in these openings quests tell us that they will continue to search for the one that gave them this power. They certainly all have it, and broadly know what it's significance is, but I'm simply arguing they were not aware they had till you shoved it in their faces, much how like Minfilia does to you later. Understanding mooglespeak is not a dead giveaway.
It would indeed fit if Warbuton's information pertained to the battle Silvertear Skies.
I just don't want to assume the starshower we see happens in concurrence with Midgardsomr's death. The clouds open in a different location for each instance: just East of Ul'dah, North of Gridania and (iirc) South of Limsa.
The pieces would fit better if the echo sounded when the seal was broken, but quest#4's starshower happens after the fact.

If it's not a Primal I would say it's just a Familiar. Be interesting to see the change in the Arcanist guild in Limsa, should have a lot of answers for us.
That's sorta what I'm thinking, the first Starshower is our Awakening and is tied to the explosion that caused the Primals to be awakened from their Aether Prison. Then at the end of the Main story quests (before Path of the Twelve) we view the end of the 'Path,' we're viewing the catastrophe that will come. I believe the story could go anyway with Tanaka and Yoshi, the meteor shower could have been any large explosions and in Yoshi's case it becomes Dalamud and Bahamut. So it was safe to take that story and build from it.What Papalymo says that needed to be stopped was the breaking of the seal..they all had different approaches to it ..Tanchred was more like trying to figure out what catastrophe was going to fall on Ul'dah specifically when in fact the tragedy was going to affect the entire world which leads me to think that the information Warburton was supposed to deliver was that the Empira was going to launch a massive attack to Silvertear Lake and take over all the crystal resources ...the breaking of the seal was an accident...and the star shower maybe marks the death of Midgarsormr
I think we've finally got it. But I wonder why Ascians are only in one of the storylines and not the other. Also does anyone have a good picture of the Horn from the Limsa quest? I would like to see how similar it is to the one from the Ul'dah storyline.

The servers may be under maintenance, but I've taken a look at my video recordings and there was an extra line Noloe didn't quote. She DOES remember you.
She simply hasn't seen you for a very long time. "Dear me, where did you come from?" - that sort of thing.Minfilia: I had not expected to see you here. Have you come to pay your respects to someone.
Minfilia: Have I seen the bard Thancred?
Minfilia: Why do you ask, has he come here?
Yep, I'm calling that one concrete now. Ascilia is Minfilia.
My bad, I thought I copy/pasted it all. Then when Warlock said that about her not remembering I was trying to find the log myself from my posts lol ty for that
- Niellefresne = frozen in death.
- F'lhaminn = Not the same since Nielle's 'death.' Doesn't seem to be the Songstress of Ul'dah anymore. Lost her muse? "There's only one I can sing for."
- Greinfarr = Still a well known Gladiator but slowly losing his ways as he's resorting to thievery to try and obtain the Heartstrike dagger to help out Nielle. Story incomplete.
- Popokkuli and Seserukka = Not up to much besides being Miners and taking care of their sister.
- Corguevais = MIA. May have been killed by the Lala Twins.
- Warburton = MIA. May be dead. May be alive.
- Ascilia = Minfilia
There's gotta be a hint somewhere to what Nielle saw inside the crypt. Servers need to come back up so I can look =[

I think that was a poor attempt to reproduce this
I don't believe is a star shower coming from a black hole is more like a rain of fire from all the ships been downed by dragon minions it might not come directly from Midgarsormr's death but it marks the event as the battle wasn't seen from all places but the rain of fire did ...
About Ascians i have looked everywhere and Travanchet is the only blatant case of one of them in disguise and he speaks in such superiority manner even looks at Y'shtola like nothing it's not your average dumb undead .
Now for Noloe here is comparison of the horns
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...Osi11JY#t=252s @ 4:12 exactly in Ul'dah
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_tySA1xRBk @ 6:26 exactly Travanchet steals horn from shtalmann
This one perhaps deserves more attention.
The goldsmith's quest, F'lhaminn's Flower, has the following gossip from the greatloam growery:
So the Botanists suspect an assassination order on Nielle. It is of course speculation on their part, but possibly an informed one?Opyltyl: So it's flowers you want, is it? Drop the pretence. You're embarrassing yourself, and insulting my intelligence. It's obvious the goldsmiths have sent you.
Opyltyl: Our head tender has ordered a ban on the sale of all flowers to any in service of the Eshtaime name.
Opyltyl: There was but one of their kind who respected us and our ways, and he is no more for this world. That Lalafell fiend that styles herself guildmaster there now had him murdered in cold blood. I've no doubt as to that.
The cutscenes don't put a date on Nielle's passing, but at the very least measure it in years. Chrysaliswiki has thankfully kept a record of the rest of the non-cutscene text with this juicy bit:
EDIT: WE HAVE A DATE FOR UL'DAH'S ECHOS!Hnaufrid: Our current guildmaster seems to be getting on well enough with the owner. It was the previous guildmaster who caused all the trouble. They say he conspired with powers in the other nations to topple Lord Lolorito and take Eshtaime's for himself.
From She Walks in Beauty:
If we combine this with the assumption that strife concerned involved the assassination of Nielle, the breaking of Heartstrike (in which the Ossuary had invested) and the dismissal of Nielle's father as guildmaster, we could assume that the echoed scenes indeed align with the lead-up to the Battle of Silvertear Skies.Holbubu: Count yourself lucky that you were not here some ten years ago, to suffer the strife which engulfed Eshtaime's Aesthetics.
In our darkest hour, there was a very real danger that the Order of Nald'thal would seize our name and assets.

Yeah I definitely think it's safe to say the events happened at the time of Battle of Silvertear Skies. The DANGER that Warburton comes to warn Ul'dah about is about the Primals. I still can't say if Warburton or Corguevais are Imperials or what happens to Corguevais after he flees. But I do think probably 75% chance that the Lala Twins "took care" of him. But what happened to the Horn? Is there more than 1 Horn or is it just the 1?
Thanks for the videos Warlock. They're pretty much a perfect match.
A few tidbits a friend of mine translated for me:
The Echo = 過去を見る力 = The Power of Seeing the Past
Minfilia = Minfiria
Ascilia = Ashiria
Corguevais = Kouguvei
Was trying to find a correlation with the name change and stuff but least it's still similar lol
