About the recovery of Eoreza after the fall of Dalamud:
Papalymo: Channeling even a tiny portion of a deity's strength will tax you greatly. Fortunately, no more that that should be needed to stay the red moon's advance. At the very least, it should be sufficient to nullify Dalamud's power and ensure Eorzea's preservation. For an added blessing, the process should see some aether returned to the land -- Aether that Dalamud had absorbed from the primals. There is yet a future for Eorzea. I ,for one, believe this to be true.
(Wow, they're already talking about expansions. Hehehe. Bet the farm, Yoshi P, bet the farm.). As Yoshi-P said something will happen between Louisoix and Bahamut at the last second.. one final trick! what does this mean? maybe Louisoix has a spell to make Eorzea absorb back all the aether Bahamut has?
Probably tells Bahamut to check his loot list and take one of the Rat Tails (those explosions had to kill some Gnats somewhere).

Wow this thread took forever to read! Extremely interesting and witty rambles going on here...
As someone who has watched the End of an Era trailer more than 20 times at least, I'm of the opinion that there is some kind of horse-like sound right as Loui begins to smile. I have no idea how that could possibly make sense at all, and I acknowledge that it could be some kind of windy incoming death sounds, but I calls 'em as I sees 'em.
Also if anyone could post a link to the new interview stuff being mentioned, or the post containing it, I would appreciate it.~

Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together Autographed By "Akihiko Yoshida Tarot Card Sweepstakes Winner
Hey Fernehalwes can you ask the Lore Lords the rest of the story about Ahldbhar the Archon Roegadyn thought to be incarnation of Rhalgr himself that battled against powerful sorcerers but at the end he ran away with them in an act that seems betrayal ....
I've been pondering over this a little more, Ferne, but I'm only half convinced. A quote for you from Toll of the Warden:7. When did Eorzeans start using the Garlean term of "beastmen" that allowed it to become a perfectly acceptable term attracting absolutely no backlash by the time we start playing the game? And if this term could be so well engrained, why aren't we calling the primals "eikons" with equal willingness? It seems a bit of a contradiction.
It depends on who you ask. The people of Ul’dah, who have branded the beast tribes as an ultimate threat (as their presence infringes on profits) are more likely to side with the Empire’s take on the issue, and resort to racial epithets conveniently provided by the empire via propaganda (fliers from the sky, hired rabble rousers, etc). On the other hand, there are those (like Minfilia and others on the Path, or the Ashcrown Consortium) who seek peaceful relations with the tribes. These are more likely to use terms such as primal over eikon. And then there are those who float about in the middle, and simply haven’t given it much thought—kind of like my grandfather who probably wasn’t what I’d call a ‘racist,’ but ended up using terms (that we now deem racist) throughout his life just because that’s what the people around him used.
That's a Sylph itself referring to members of the tribes as beastmen. A Sylph using a term designed by Garleans to demonise them and promote their own destruction. I don't buy it.Troxia: If one knows what a beastman wants, negotiation is simple.
...unless of course the echo is translating meaning directly into my mind and it's actually ME using the term. But then there is this:
And then this:Nananoby: You had best not speak that name around the beast tribes, lest you incur their wrath. “Eikon” is a derogatory term used by the Garleans to reflect their belief that the primals are not true gods, but mere beasts which the ignorant tribes mistakenly worship.
"Beast" tribes. It's still bugging me. For people who have the highest level of diplomatic relations with the tribes to be welcome to use such a racist Garlean term, I find it very surprising, cultural slurs or no. It stands in stark contrast to the term "eikon" which supposedly draws much ire from the tribes, yet the term exists in conjunction with the denomination "beast."Hedyn: Welcome back, Thal. Nananoby was kind enough to provide a full account of your dealings with the beast tribes.
So yeah, it's still bugging me.

Adding to this Minfilia herself tells us that those that receive the extra gift of understanding all beastmen languages makes us one of them to this Nael Van Darnus confirms as he starts calling us Beasts from "United we Stand" till the end ...so Beast Tribe is not a derogatory term
I think even the Sylphs would feel superior to the other tribes based on their own non-"beastliness".
Perhaps "beast" shouldn't be thrown in the same pile of insults as "eikon"? The tribes could just be extremely defensive of their primals, as they are in the ifrit dialogue posted earlier when they tell us to speak to the lord of the inferno with respect (or lose our tongues!). My thoughts are that they aren't particularly bothered by being called the beast tribes. It could also refer to the fact that they all seem to have pets... though I doubt this was the interpretation SE was going for."Beast" tribes. It's still bugging me.
