The view of the ship we get is limited, but it has the same spaghetti strainer bottom dome and old school propellers as the standard Garlean airships. From what I can tell, that's the only thing Gaius ever uses. I'm 90% sure that his legion stays in Ala Mhigo and his involvement in the western campaign was limited to riding around on his ship and poking his nose into Nael's business.

We see this ship when he visits us in Living on a Prayer as well as the End of an Era.
