Thanks a lot for the replyJust popping in to cover three issues:
1. End of and Era trailer & the Luminous Engine
What you see in the trailer is pre-rendered CG created by our ridiculously talented Visual Works studio (who handle most of the pre-rendered goodness you see in all Square Enix games). The Luminous Engine, on the other hand, is a medium that will generate pre-rendered quality graphics, but in real time. So, instead of just watching Agni climb on the back of an elder dragon and fly over an endless shanty town, you can control Agni yourself and crash her into a bridge...that will explode into a bajillion pieces without any slowdown, while maintaining the realism we've come to expect from exploding shanty town bridges.
As Yoshida-san has said in the past, the Luminous Engine is geared towards high-end machines, and offline campaigns, which is why it isn't suited for an MMO. And that is why we had our dev team build a new engine that would be a better fit with ARR.
2. Echo wooshing (or is that 'whooshing'?)
Anonymoose has explained it as well as anyone could have. Thanks!
3. Who is the mysterious primal that scared the Garleans away?
It pains me to say, I'm not allowed to speak on this issue. That twinge you feel in your elbow? That's not Bursitis. That's my pain traveling across the aether and directly into your joints.
What I can say, is that there is an answer, it's been planned since the beginning, and it will make sense...well, as much sense as Square Enix stories usually make.
(And we're not just stalling, trying to buy time to think up something cool...honest!)<3 My bad i didn't mean it exactly to be Luminous Engine ...i meant the modified form of it for FFXIV it doesn't have an official name, does it? anyways .. Now we gonna have to speculate about the mysterious Primal!

Now we're talking! Not a retcon afterall; just a prolonged explanation put on hold by the FUN, LIVE, REBOOT, REBUILD, eh!? I'LL PLAY YOUR GAME, YOU ROGUES (And recommend it to others).
My gut instinct says it might be Odin... as if he's been out there in The Shroud this whole time, unseen... waiting... watching...
I'm excited to see for myself and glad that it won't affect my write-ups of 1.X.

Can and Is combined make canis, which relates to a wolf, and who is a common reoccuring wolf in Final Fantasy? It's Fenrir! The riddle is solved!

Whoa, can't believe I didn't notice that lol. On GameFAQs we used to do that to give URLs to certain adult-rated sites, lol.
Good times.
Oh and I can't believe I just remembered this (from seeing the cutscenes), but Urianger can summon Familiars, lol.

So you have either:I like the theory about the can and is alluding to Fenrir. That seems like a pretty good guess. But what about the my pain clue? If it even is a clue?

Duh, duh, Duh?!
Clip of a summoning : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpTPpglhKsE
And that starshower at the start of the clip looks very familiar too...
- Uncovered a conspiracy theory; or
- Read too much into this; or
- Taken the bait.
A tough one...
Heeeeee, Fernehalwes for the win. <3 Thanks for #3 there, I am wriggling in anticipation and feel like my faith in you guys and your tendencies to let us discover god-shaped holes in the story has been vindicated.
(Ten thousand post-redenomination gil says it's Odin just like the last time there was a mysterious god-shaped hole in the story of an FF MMO!)
7UP!

Ramuh has always been the primal of the Eastern Shroud.
Odds are its him.

Wow, so I guess the little wooshes of the Echo were time jumps not yet controllable by the playe?.
I guess when that second star shower happens is a sign it got fully activated and controllable?
Sorry if I'm parroting myself, but I'm in awe.
Actually is after Minfilia tells you that you have this gift that wooshing stops and from then on you get the menu asking you if you want to use the Echo..in the class quests can't remember if all Echos you are asked or if they just happen too
