How will the beta pool be drawn from?

Title pretty much asks my question. I got to thinking about it, I didn't apply for the alpha.. but I wanna help test the beta. Will they be drawing beta players from the alpha pool? Or will it be a separate application?

Hopefully a dev can give a reply, so I can know if I should go re-find the alpha application and apply, or if I'm safe to wait for beta app.

If you get into one round of testing you're automatically into the next unless they decide to exclude alpha testers and have us sign up again. Otherwise, it goes like this:

Play FFXIV? If yes - remove from pool. If no - send invites.

Have a capable PC? if yes - remove from pool. If no - send invites.

Want to play the game rather than test and make it better? If yes - send invites If no - remove from pool.

While they do want to get a wide array of players and systems, they usually invite the wrong group of people. This is true for not just SE but many other companies.

I just checked the alpha thingy, and it has this..

    Beta Tester Applications
    - Details for the Beta Test will be announced at a later date.
    - The PlayStation 3 Beta Test will start in conjunction with the PC Beta Test.
    - Testers that participated in the Alpha Test do not need to resubmit an application during beta tester recruitment.
    * A new round of tester selection will be held for the Beta Test. Participation in the Alpha Test does not guarantee selection for the Beta Test.
    * New applications are required for alpha testers who wish to take part in the PlayStation 3 Beta Test.

So now I feel silly. Oh well.

Not at all, it's just how selection seems to end up in most MMOs, which accounts for a lot of issues that end up being present at launch of them lol.
