When will 2nd phase of alpha commence??

I would say yes..however it's pretty much confirmed it won't be launching untill 2013, the later half of it most likely as well. They did say it depends on how well it goes and Alpha is going very well..but we haven't even entered beta yet and I don't think beta would be shorter than alpha which is scheduled to last a month.

But that is my point.

If you look at the roadmap, there is no mention at all of a beta for PC. They only state open and closed beta for PS3.

As a friend told me, I have a hard time seeing the game being down until 1st or 2nd qt of 2013 because of the current state of the game. It is getting better, but we are the hardcore fanboys (and girls) who weathered the storm (pun) and stayed when others jumped ship (I am a pirate you know).

I hope that I am right but you never know, I could be way off. I am just giving a best guess and using the information we were giving via the roadmap.

As far as I know they will run 4 alpha tests first. Then - when they think the game is ready - they will start beta (PC and PS3 versions sepparated). As soon as they think the game is ready for release they will tell us.

In the roadmap there is "Version 2.0 software distribution" scheduled for october. Well the alpha testers need to download the software. That's all for now.

Mid November the "Reboot Phase" will start. It contains an PS3 Closed Beta Test and Version 2.0 Free Trial Version. The Arrow is pointing to somwhere after January 2013. This means they expect the official release after that! Free Trial Version for us is alpha and beta. They said that maybe all existing players can enter beta at some point and play there with their old characters. But only maybe and probably not right at start of beta.
