What is the Japanese Playerbase thinking and complaining about?

Funny to see that there are almost the same topics which we can see around here.

Japanese want to play on japanese "onry" servers?

    Dedicated server for each language
"I think there is no need to separate the server"
"The play also foreign visitors, I'm fun. There is not much in the MMO of Japan.
Advantage is the peak time is different so, does play even better to log in to the middle of the night or day."

so not everyone is for "japanese onry" servers, like everyone is saying over here.

    they complain also about hairstyles
    Hairstyles topic
    "Too few hairstyles now!
~ I do not desire to try out if it 's just because I think some people want to make a personality"

its not that different to our topics

    farewell

Make the global server located in the US and then see if they care.

JP are less anal about stuff like that as they play NA/EU MMOs via translation patches just like NA/EU connect to JP/KR/CN only games with an english patch.

The japanese aren't all that different from us. They like a lot of the same things we like, they hate a lot of the same things we like. It's important to not just broadly label all of them as if they all think the same thing, same applies with us.

    Nicely put.

People are people, regardless of the language we speak.
And everyone is unique so you will get all types of people in every large society.

Our perceptions of a group can be easily swayed by the most vocal members, even if they do not accurately represent the whole. Unfortunately, the most vocal ones are quite often the ones with a bone to pick.

I used to play ffxi back in the days. Searching for a party during japanese time was nightmare. Most japanese players would have in their search comment "<japanese> pt only". Notice how I said "MOST", because generalizing would be ignorant and racist. While this might just be anecdotal evidence, these were my experiences in ffxi. Sure, I played in japanese parties, in my 6 years of playing ffxi I joined a grand total of 4 japanese parties; and was rejected, or told " <I'm sorry> jp only" countless times. My gear was always on point, I even had BB for monk, and my skills as a player were ok, so other than nationality, and language, there was no difference between me, and a japanese player.

I really do think that we should have different servers for each nationality. Don't get me wrong, I dont mind playing with japanese players at all, I believe that if you know what you are doing, you dont really have to speak. If I get invited to a party as a PLD I know I am going to tank, as a BLM I know I am going to nuke, it is not rocket science. But being rejected just because I am american, or from Spain, is just plain ignorant, and it is stress that I do not need.

Also, and I am not sure if there are ways around this, but it would make it more difficult, and maybe not feasible. But, region specific servers might put an end or at least hinder the gil sellers. I dont know about this las one though, thoughts anyone?

i think you're missing the point on what this thread is about. This isn't arguing for or against reigonal servers. The is is just the OP making some observations he felt were interesting.

The person that made the thread stated “so not everyone is for "japanese onry" servers, like everyone is saying over here.” So my post is directed that this statement. Just like the person that made this thread, I am just stating my observation and experiences in ffxi.
